Not exactly. The original idea was you're in the school and have to take out perceived rivals for some asshole's affection in a variety of possible ways akin to Hitman. Then it suddenly veered off the rails because Eva can't play or watch anything without want to borrow features from it despite not even having the basic groundwork down for the game to function.

So instead of just "Hitman but at School" it's also trying to be open-world with a town (because open world is the big meme and has been for the past few years) complete with shops and NPCs that give info and have their own problems for side-missions. Then the menus need to be redone because he played Persona 5, then the combat should be changed because he played Yakuza, then there should be a million unique students because why not.
