Don't be silly go- fellow gamer, slippery slope is just a logical fallacy remember? Dumb goyim can't even remember indoctri- I mean school. Now buy your loot boxes and have fun!
>buy $60 game
>it becomes free2play later
>developers don't compensate you and basically tell you to fuck off
The higher the graphical fidelity the costlier the resources are to make. As modern gamers demand modern graphics the price is gonna go up. If it's an up front increase it might hurt sales, hence microtransactions.
I'd honestly be fine with PS2 era and below graphics, it'd keep costs lower and allow developers to allocate more resources to gameplay and let the game run better, I hate when HD remakes trade 60FPS for higher graphical fidelity. It'd be better in any game not focused on a conematic experience. But kids need their next-gen graphics.

Is it wrong to think that full price game microtransactions are okay as long as they go entirely to making sure the DLC is free?
>buy 250€ handheld
>it gets a 20% price cut two months later
>an upgraded model is announced 4 months later
>receive a bunch of old ROMs and an emblem reminding you how big of an idiot you were for trusting in them

The thing is, this doesn't happen. unless by 'DLC' you mean a couple shitty MP maps a couple devs threw together in an afternoon.
