Is Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines an actual good game or just a meme game?
It alright.

This
It has some good ideas but it is painfully incomplete
It's a fantastic game in a buggy and outdated engine. It was my all time favourite until bloodborne.

It's a bit of a meme but well worth a playthrough, genuine fun
Pros:
>Great characters
>Good settings
>Tons of fap material, you'll find yourself wanking to it
>Combat system is surprisingly ful and kinda jerky, meele and blood sucking feels cool as hell
Cons
>Weird glitches
>Sometimes confusing if you're used to being spoonfed quests from modern games
>somewhat short if you speed run it
Give it a try, it's fantastic. You can run it several times in completely different ways
Flawed gem. The parts that are great are really great, but the parts that suck really fucking suck.
Overrated on here by a lot. Still worth a pirate and a few play throughs. I re-play it every october and always will.

The gameplay is clunky but the world/setting, writing, characters, and quest resolution is way up there. It's similar to Deus Ex in clunkiness mixed with coolness, though it aged better than Deus Ex. Especially with Wesp's fan patch.
Bloodlines was tied with Fallout 1 for my favorite RPG of all time until I got my greasy hands on Age of Decadence. I still fondly remember buying my physical copy at release at Best Buy and spilling my spaghetti over the cashier who was a reasonably attractive chick who said she was looking forward to playing it. Fortunately I made it through that tense encounter with my wizardry intact. Plus the Best Buy edition came with a special soundtrack CD.
Whats good class to start out with?

This, can't think of another non-porn game I've played while edging

I don't know I've never played it. I was told not to open it, neither my physical or my downloaded copy.
like alot of 2000s rpgs it was ambitious and made with passion but ended up incomplete. it, along with many other games of the same time and genre, became cult classics for a variety of very good reasons.
if you play it just pirate it. troika is long gone and any money goes to actiblizz.

Doesn't matter much, but nossie and malk are better saved for later plays. Ventrue is probably the cleanest/purest first run.

just pick whatever sounds interesting to you. if you like the game there's a 90000000% percent you're gonna replay it a dozen times anyways.
Thanks everyone, guess i'll give it a try
Money, right?

it's like oblivion with 9/10 characters, don't expect too much from the game department.
like all the anons said in the thread, it lacks polish and is like DMC4/FO NV in the sense that it's a game that could have been 10/10 if given more time and resources.

It's good. Melee combat can be little wonky but it's fun with disciplines. The ability to complete objectives in multiple ways keeps it fun. It's the first RPG where I ever actually cared about the dialogue system and interacting with the other characters. It gets combat heavy near the end and it can feel like a slog but the rest of the game more than makes up for that.
It's also the only game that made me keep thinking about it a lot even when I wasn't playing it. I kept listening to the OST after playing it a bunch of times, then I started listening to other stuff from the bands that had songs in the game. I also kept reading a lot of the World of Darkness lore, it's pretty interesting.
I've played the game close to two dozen times, and still play it every year or so after I've stopped thinking about it so much. I hope I get to see it remade for VR. I don't think a sequel would be good, but playing it in VR would be incredible.

>TFW Damsel is still inexplicably just about the only videogame woman I've ever had a crush on
Bartender slut doesn't do it, VV doesn't do it, angry Damsel does.

It is one of the greatest games ever made if its strengths appeal to you. What it does well it knocks out of the park. The primary issues with the game is that it is buggy and incomplete. You literally have to use the unofficial patch to beat the game. Don't let that stop you though. Very little games give you as many options, have such expertly crafted characters/dialogue, such fantastic atmosphere and seem to try so genuinely hard to be a good RPG. I've probably put 1000 hours in it at least over the years, with more hours to come in the future no doubt.
