Nioh Dead Cells or Total War Warhammer.

Lost dimension, about an hour ago. I'm travelling so I can't finish other games that are also truly good. About 4-5 came out this year.

In terms of recent release, Bloodborne was the last one that fits OP's question. But I've been playing a lot of 5+ year old games lately.

Was coming in to say Nioh, bought the DLC after not touching the game since a few weeks after launch and God damn is it a good game

I don't want them to, because that's what's killing video games. Devs keep trying to make the same type of games over and over or they cater too much on the fanservice because people keep shoving that shit in their mouths. They barely try to innovate for themselves anymore.

The last game I played was Gravity Rush 2 and I loved it. It didn't feel like it was just a cashgrab and you could tell some real soul put into it.
