The console itself is decent but there aren't enough games out yet to justify the purchase. The only two games worth getting right now are Splatoon 2 and ARMS, just to get in while the community is still really active but that's not really all that worth it for me. Once more games come out, I'll be sure to get one at a lower price.

When it comes to consoles I only care about exclusive rpgs (because I have a pc for everything else) and the Switch simply has non.
I considered getting one in the beginning because Xenoblade Chronicles 2 looked very good (and still does) and I thought Monster Hunter would stay Nintendo exclusive. Since Monster Hunter won't even come to Switch in the west though (and only a 3DS port in Japan) and nothing interesting (except XBC2) is announced for the future I have no interest at the moment.

As a switch owner, I have put a surprising amount of hours into it so far (far more then my PS4 or Xbone the first year I had them).

However, with that said, it is missing a LOT of features, has some hardware quirks that I wish they had addressed instead of shoving it out the door, and it was purely luck that I was able to get a pre-order in the day they went up.

I'd maybe wait awhile before picking one up, since I get the feeling they will be a lot more common later in the year/early next year, and hopefully they will have some of the missing features (Cloud saves, virtual console, etc) up by then.

This is excusable. It allows for greater performance in some games and the exclusives are very, very few. I believe only three games actually required the expansion pak, but they were pretty good games so you kind of needed it. Still, it was a time of rapidly emerging technology and doubling the RAM made a big difference.

My WiiU is basically a Smash and Mario Kart box. I did just get BotW though and I've been getting more classic NES and SNES games I've never played before.

So what good games are on the Switch? How does the Switch material hold up? I could see the gimmick falling apart quickly and there being all sorts of issues with the controls and the joycons. Is there an E Shop on the Switch yet? And good games on that if there is one?

I generally like having a Nintendo console, and then my PC. So if the Switch is worth the investment I'll consider it.

Well obviously, but the original point was about the N3DS having exclusives. Which it only sort of does if you compare it to the basic 3DS/2DS, and even then there's like three of them. Depends on how you want to count the games that just play like shit on the original, which I think consist of Hyrule Warriors and Monster Hunter. Neither of which are exclusive any more either, though HW is more complete on the 3DS, apparently. For some fucking reason.

The real points to be discussed are the better 3D and nub. The nub could be better, honestly. I think this sort of image misses the point, though. It happens on handhelds more often and more significantly because of tech advancements making already realized technology more cost effective for handhelds. Meanwhile, it takes longer for the kind of advancements you want for your more expensive home consoles to be realized. Which is why console revisions have typically been slimmer, cheaper models that iron out the kinks of the originals or some extra shit you plug in, rather than just flat out better versions like handhelds. Both are driven by the cheapening and optimization of tech, but pulled in opposite directions. Handhelds more powerful, consoles smaller. PS4Pro and XboX are rare exceptions to the rule, and also proceeded by the more usual cheaper, smaller revisions.

I'm sort of surprised the image doesn't go after Sega either. But not too surprised.

So i bought NSW somewhere in first weeks after launch. With console I bought BotW. Some time later Shovel Knight, Metal Slug and lately Ultra Street Fighter 2. The last one is only good for local games with friends, because in-built WiFi really sucks. There are some gimmicks to connect console via cable to Web, but as it goes for a handheld which barely detects singal in other room it's pretty bad.

The controller is a bit too small. It wasn't designed for fighting games, because analogue gauges are not that sensitive as their should be. For competetive game you have to but either Nintendo Pro Controller or replacement.

Anyway, i was hoping for better utilisation of joy-cons. Except few games none of developers use full capabilities of those magic sticks.

Nonetheless, I am kinda satisfied with console. If Danganronpa, Ace Attorney, Final Fantasy bootlegs find their place on NSW i will be even more turned for this console.

P.S. DESU i feel a bit deceived... with PS4 i would be more content.
