I hate normies so fucking much.

It's suspenseful. But in a good way. There's no boring slog for food and water like in h1z1 or dayZ, if you find a fun, or some melee shit, you can run around and in theory win with proper tactics. Most people spend tons of time hunting level 3 helmets/vests and to minmax weapons with 8x scopes cause they can't aim manually (and don't know how to zero even with a scope, lol), and it makes for a very boring game. It's about how you play it. Small freedoms that culminate in good gameplay. I always drop in high population zones, sometimes it pans out, sometimes it doesn't. Most of the time it does, and I either kill everyone else, or get out with my life and usually some loot.

$40 is definitely way too much though, considering other games in the genre are $20 quite often.

It's early access shit, of course, so if you can avoid it don't buy it. I got it from a guy on my steam list who is fookin' obsessed with the game. It's very unoptimized and buggy. But it's got a feeling I don't get from many games. I guess I'd sorta describe it like the feeling you get when you're antag in SS13? Something like that.
