These and playing the single player modes require huge cash investments which is completely bullshit. Also, no method of trading which is a staple in all card games.

I don't want to spend 100 bucks to get stomped on by someone who has been playing and paying for stuff for an entire game, plus it's just so fucking boring I'd rather play Gwent and look at the state of that game

About time I quit because of that. Sure the dinosaur expansion made the most amount of classes viable, but the cards were hardcore boring to play.

It's DESIGNED to be as annoying as possible for a free only player.
That's why it's bullshit and I'll never play again.
I played enough to know that if I want to keep playing, I'll have to pay up and keep paying up.
So fuck that.
>>
>>387190858
The new Bolvar is surprisingly good in a deck made for him, mostly because there are so many good divine shield minions now.
>>
Either I haven't searched much or there aren't that many types of decks. I like playing weird shit like exodia decks, milling, stalling, alternate win conditions. HS doesnt have much of that.
>>
It has about .5% of the strategic and mechanical depth of MTG. It is literally a normie's casual tcg.
>>
>>387189669
I play since beta and the last time I put money in it was in GVG,. From there I always had enough cards to make the good enough decks so i could could get good rankings and farm around 6-8k gold between each expac, which allows me to buy 60-80 packs, right from the start of the expac which is enough to get most of the useful cards. If you also dust the useless legacy cards, you can pretty much get all the best cards every cycle without spending anything.

But unless you play since the early beginnings, and managed to build a good collection early on, you have zero chance to play in any constructed mode unless you spend some hundreds of dollars to get the good cards from at least 3 last expansions plus the necessary legacy cards. You will be so behind if you try f2p you will probably quit after the 3rd constructed match because it basically impossible to catch up without putting some money in it.
>>
Because I'm not interested in card games, they're inconsistent in ways besides player input. And unlike other games I play the inconsistency isn't a punishment for bad engagements or something, but a central factor in how the game is played and likely one of the only factors that keep the game from going stale from the same encounters time and time again.
>>
>>387189669
I got bored with it way back before they had even put out any expansion card packs. You couldn't do any archetypes except for aggro and win unless you wanted to dump shitloads of money on the game and the outcome of games was just way too random.

>>
>>387192092
if your problem was the same problem i had, that it was an aggro shitstorm meta, the last expansion totally flipped the script. games typically run 17+ turns long now
>>
>>387192287
Except that the decks that actually win right now require you to have 6-8 different legendaries per deck.
If you haven't dumped quite a bit of money into the game you won't be winning as anything but pirate warrior.
>>
the old gods removed all aspects of experimentation and fun from deck building. they essentially gave everyone their win condition in the form of one card which designed their deck for them

the quest cards and now the lich heroes are just a continuation of this. if you just go through the motions and draw your big card first, you win

it's just dull now

i stopped playing because there's absolutely no way i can keep up with a good card collection each rotation any more, so it was a waste of time.

The real problem is I'm a filthy casual and can't be bothered with anything to do with the metagame. People find that annoying. I love a long game though, win or lose.
>>
>>387189669

I fucking loved this game on launch. Stopped playing after they introduced Standard & Wild format. It made me feel like all the effort and theorycrafting I did was all for nothing & my previous collections worthless. I guess it's good for the average player but one of my favourite parts of Hearthstone was making my own unique decks which got ruined by the Standard format.

(And even though Wild is there to counter this it's not the same since nobody cares about it and it has 0 popularity)

>>387189669
p2w garbage.

Every new set counters the old set, forcing you to spend $50-100 to get the new set of cards to compete with.

Even the best players cannot grind to legend with free decks with better than 51% winrates.

The prices are insane for how bad the game is.

RNG is cancer. The game is borderline no-skill. Just trade well and learn the combos and you're "good".

The whole game is modeled off of exploitative casino and mobile phone games, designed to milk whales for big bucks. And it works.
>>
>>387193020
I mean it's okay for a digital card game, but minion lethality being so high makes it depressing to play

I tried for a few months. Takes fucking forever to get cards, and dailies mean I can't grind out gold on my days off - I have to play EVERY day, which simply isn't viable with my work schedule.

I managed to make 1 decent deck, but once I realized it's be another 3 months until I had another, I lost all interest.

The massive RNG is a whole 'nother problem.

Basically it's just a very selfish, greedy game.

I wasn't super good so I only ever did the freeplay or tavern brawl. Eventually, I got tired of either being shit on by rng or pulling off something only for them to have the 1 card that undid it.
Even when I won it wasn't that satisfying most of the time because I knew that they lost to rng

Got a question to the well versed in Hearth Stone.

My friend plays and was telling me how the game works and I was interested in the DK mechanices and alternate heroes. I know that your normal hero turns into a DK (DK Thrall, Jaina ect) and I have seen most of them but do the cosmetic skins also change? Like Midihv, Snowsong, Kadgar, ect turn into DKs too? I would really like to see them.

Also with the Arthas skin coming up will he turn into the Lich King when you use the DK mechanic while using him as an alt hero?

I installed it earlier last week but uninstalled it a couple days ago.

>>387189669
I played since closed beta. Wild making it so I can't use cards I worked hard for anymore was one blow. The new expansion sparked my interest and contains some of the best cards I've seen in a long time. But no one is using them, maybe adding one or two to their jade druids or just playing pirate warriors, and it's not like a new "season" is going to ever going to get rid of the assholes trying to win as much as possible instead of having fun. But I still come back every now and then to try out interesting combinations only to get beat into the dust by whatever obscure shit has been come up with and ran into the ground.

Because for the 3rd time in the same week and the 2nd time in the same day, I had a full board + cards in hand against an empty board with no cards in hand, only to lose because the opponent slapped down ragnaros and it randomly hit me instead of my board full of creatures.

>>387194672

I hate the monthly ladder resets.

I just can't manage 280-300+ matches a month it is like I always get around rank 2-3 then drop back to 5. The ranked play floors were a good step but they are kinda fucking useless since they aren't permanent and reset ever month.

Either make ranked play floors permanent or make seasons last as long as the current expansion(example a new season started the day of un'goro's release and ended on the release of knights of the frozen throne and a new one began until the next expansion etc.)

Also the game got a lot more expensive with the removal of adventures.
>>
As a free-to-player there's way too much grind to keep up with the meta and stay competitive with all the new adventures and expansions
>>
Because it just wasn't fun. The only time I actually had even a bit of fun was with C'Thun decks or whatever the fuck they were called. Even then it was just raw RNG. Moment the next expansion hit, I quit.

Tavern brawl can be fun at times, but if and ONLY IF the brawl is 100% random, as in you don't get to build a deck and the deck is decided for you. That way, no matter how much money you've spent its down to experience, and luck. Only problem is that the grind to 20 to unlock tavern brawls is absolutely fucking shit. Its boring, games are one-sided, and its just takes too god damn long.

Thank god I never spent money on this fucking game.
>>
I'm about to drop the game and I've been an avid player for years. The power creep is out of control and there is no end in sight. Half the competitive cards seeing play right now just generate more cards. There is no hand management, you just throw your shit at the wall and hope you get lucky.
>>
>>387189669
It costs to much time/money to make multiple fun decks to play
Also the game gets stale after 1 month of each expansion due to 80% net decking
>>

>>
Card games are fucking boring and they're not my thing because I don't like how the game basically boils down to RNG.
Not really saying that's a bad thing, I understand the appeal of card games, they're just 100% not for me.
>>

>>
>>387189669

>>
>>387189669
worked hard to get a decent control warrior back in early 2016 only for half of my deck to get canned some months later due to rotations

fuck this game im just gonna stick to printed MTG with friends
>>
>>387196871
I never said that I didn't like Shadowverse, it's just that I don't have any expansion cards so trying to do daily quests in A rank would just be torture.
>>
I reached my goals with the game. Took a while, but I hit them. I got 500 wins on rogue and mage. Then i hit 500 wins on every other class, 1 by 1. I hit legend. I got 12 arena wins. I have no desire to grind to legend every month. The cardbacks aren't worth any "prestige", you win a few games and you're 20. If the game had some more arbitrary rewards to keep me sucked in, I'd keep playing. I like the game, it's fun to me. But I've won over 6k ranked games and over 4k arena games. I want something to shoot for.
>>
>>387192929
this desu fampai
I love how the game showers you with free stuff
>>
>>387189669
I wanted to get back into it, but it is basically impossible now. All the cards I had were rotated out and it seems like every deck is full of epics and legendaries now. There is no way to catchup without spending a ton of money or playing the game a ton every single day.
>>
>>387189669
CCG is shit
>>
>>387197237
you can switch to solo missions now. They give you overall less money, but is better than no money at all.
>>
The amount of RNG in this game is insane. People used to complain about the first expansion because it added a bunch of RNG, but now it is core to the game. You have classes like Rogue and Priest that have RNG as their core game plan now. High/low rolling is the basis for Shaman too. It's so frustrating. There was a time where Knife Juggler and Rag were what people complained about. Now you have stuff like Priest discovering/obtaining cards from your deck every turn, or Paladins discovering two or more Tirions.
>>
>>387197572
You talked about RNG and didn't even mention Mage who has the most ridiculous RNG swings in the game
>>
>>387192474
I agree. Moving a lot of things out of Standard hurt this too.

I really don't get the point. The classic sets are so dominating that their argument about rotating other sets out doesn't actually matter. They have to balance every card they make with Wild in mind to prevent broken card combos, so why even have the Wild format? They claimed it hindered design space, but there are no broken combos in Wild so clearly this isn't the case.

Rotating also really hurt certain classes. They were so half assed with giving Rogue deathrattle and jade support and so the longer they wait the more cards are rotated out. Mech Mage was actually a cool concept, but now Mechs as a whole are basically gone. Dragons will be gone and replaced with some other control type and eventually Jades will be gone and replaced too.

It doesn't add variety in the deck building. It just forces players to dispose of most of their cards and craft new ones that serve the same purpose. It ends up making it so that there is very little variety in each class's decks.

You gotta love their new strategy of forcing legendaries too. Make each core class gimmick a legendary each expansion to try to get the most amount of money from people.
>>
>>387195212
The whole game is designed around streamer and tournament culture.
>>
>>387189669
You mean besides the DRM, the shity business practices, the anti consumer practices, the lack of originality from the richest gaming company in the world and that blizzard since wow BC only produces overhyped very well polished turds that are hollow husks of the games they copy?

Well my reason to quit hearthstone was me losing constantly to guys with unique card. The time it took me to gather the gold for 25 card packs and then not getting a single shaman card ( I mostly played shaman) were the death nail for hs for me.
>>
>card is too strong
>instead of balancing it, they just force it into wild
>even if it was a classic card

The incompetent on the balancing team is baffling.
>>
I bought the first few expansions/adventures, and I have ~50k dust.

I do not play anymore because the amount of money you have to invest into the game to be relevant is stupid.
