I miss all the silly banter between devs, publishers and hardware companies. You never see shit like Sony/Sega vs Ninty or Itagaki vs Kamiya anymore.

On a drop of a dime? No. After years and years of Nintendo shitting on developers and being slave drivers and demanding that everyone play by their rules because Nintendo dominated the industry and they had an ego about it? Absolutely. The reason developers jumped ship to Sony is because they were tired of putting up with Nintendo's bullshit. Sony themselves broke ties with Nintendo and made their own console after Nintendo demanded to own all rights to Sony's work for the Nintendo Playstation, which of course Sony was very much not happy with seeing as how they created and developed the whole thing. If it wasn't for Nintendo's massive ego thinking that no one could survive without them and that they controlled everything, Sony would have never made the Playstation, people would have kept developing for the SNES and later the N64, Microsoft would have never thought it was possible to break into the games industry, and Nintendo WOULD HAVE dominated the market. But we see how all of it panned out.
