Fuck it I'll bite. I was a Genesis kid and have always preferred the Sonic series to Mario. I love Sonic Adventure and to a lesser extent Sonic Adventure 2. Mario 64 destroys them.

I like Adventure 2's stages, music and story more but I really love 1's comfy overworld (even if it's a nightmare to get through the amazon jungle).
Both final fights for the games are still equally incredible though, so hype after all these years.

I like both. I really don't think one is better than the other. I think they are two different games with two different play styles and each good in their own way. I just wish '06 hadn't been so terrible.
