>Favorite level
Milkman conspiracy. It's everybody's favorite level

>Favorite character
Cruller.

>Best Power
Thematically it's clairvoyance, in practice it's levitation.

>Hopes for PsychoNauts 2
A level with 4 or more personalitys fighting each other, a level in someone's mind who has serious depression, a final level that takes place in Cruller's shattered mind.

picked this game up for a nice dolla a long ass time ago, played it a month or two ago and quit after a few hours. it wasn't challenging enough for me to want to continue. fucking amazing character and world designs tho.

also fuck all the scavenger hunting
>>
>>387168054
I really only played it for the story and themeing. Also, play the last level and then tell me that shit is easy.
>>
I can't remember much now, I might replay it. I liked being a giant fish.

I don't think it picks up until the third mental world or so. Lots of tutorial areas before then.

First post woooo, but in all honesty, I love Psychonauts and am not just here to be like 'fuggin first post in >>>/v/ '
>Favorite level
Probably Black Velvetopia. The new scenery and everything is really nice, and I love the mexican influence (pls don't deport lel), and I absolutely loved the concept of collecting the four queens and helping Edgar be able to paint without the impulse of El Odio.

>Favorite Character
Probably Milla Vodelo (however you spell that) because of her interesting (and very tragic) past. Her resolve is strong, but how did Oleander get to her? I know, unexpected sneezing powder and stuff, blah blah blah.
>Best Power
Well, I'd have to say levitation, because Raz is so slow, and it's extremely useful to get around quickly and even float.
>Hopes for the sequel
Well, just don't fuck it up, because at least 100k people want to experience a new story, maybe something like a team mechanic, sort of with the idea >>387167927 was talking about with the 4 combating personalities, maybe 4 (say, Sasha, Milla, Lilli and Raz) go into the head, and it would be an interesting concept. The Brain Tumbler made sense on how they got back to the other dream worlds. Hope they have something as good as that. I dunno, they could have a goodie for people that played the first game and 100%ed it? like something special, for the new game, not just Linda and Pokeylope meeting again. Also maybe outfit swapping? Maybe we could do without the PoNR, or maybe it COULD have a PoNR, but I prefer it not to have one.
>>
Oh yeah, NG+ would be nice too. As you aren't sneaking into a camp to train.

>Favorite world?
I like the asylum environment in general. It's weird enough that it feels like another mental world in itself.

Outside of that it's probably say Black Velvetopia. Or Meat Circus.

>Favorite characters?
Sasha and Milla. The camp councilors are all fun and interesting.

>Best power?
Pyrokinesis for laughs. Levitation for actually being useful outside of very specific situations.

>Sequel hopes
I feel like it'll be hard to capture how natural the weird charming humor in the first game was, so I'm hoping that the comedy doesn't come across as forced. But it's nice that the world and dynamic between the lead characters is already established, so they have something to build off of at the very least.
>>
>>387169127
I like Point of No Return moments, but it'd be nice to have an epilogue mode for those compulsive enough to find every figment.

>Favorite world?
Milkman. I dig the strange level designs and remember this being a good example of this.

>Favorite characters?
Cruller.

>Best power?
Levitation but clairvoyance is interesting.

>Expectations, doubts, or vague hopes for the sequel?
Not sure really.
Mostly for it to feel like sequel, same silly humour, some deluded minds, hope clairvoyance returns and this >>387167927 anon's Cruller idea sounds pretty cool.

>Favorite world?

Milkman , such a fun and creative world. Napoleon world was also a personal pleasure

>Favorite characters?

The Gmen, fucking hilarious.

>Best power?

Clairvoyance

>Expectations, doubts, or vague hopes for the sequel?

I have very little faith, Tim never stopped dissapointing after Brutal Legend. I can only hope that guy who made the first game and Monkey Island/Grim Fandango is still in there for this one.
>>
>>387167159
>Favorite world?
Lungfishopolis was pretty fun and the humor was spot on.
>Favorite characters?
Milla had some feels bad man moments, Edgar was probably my favorite though.
>Best power?
Can't remember that much about them, so I'll just say Levitation.
>Expectations, doubts, or vague hopes for the sequel?
I don't have much expectations. Hopefully it'll turn out good.

I marathoned this in about 11 hours the first time I played it. Such a fine game, probably gonna play it again soon.
>>
>>387170716

Figments were the one thing I hated about this game. The game already has too much crap to collect without them, and then you have a bunch of objects you might miss looking straight at them and that's when they're not flying around in some fuck-off pattern.

I'm not much of a completionist, but I like to spend at least a little time playing before I have my hopes dashed.

Cruller has to have a level at some point. I still remember trying to use the door on him in the first game. He just gets angry and hits it away.

>>
>Favorite level
Waterloo World. It's just really comfy to me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaj8O8DumJo

>Favorite character
That's a tough one, but I'm gonna have to go with Cruller. He's a perfect example of a character that can be both serious and ridiculously funny at once.

>Best power
Levitation made the game a lot more fun for me.

>Hopes for the sequel
I just want it to be good and fun. I beat the original a week ago, and it really felt like the development team was running out of time near the end, so they ended up rushing through a plot that needed a few more hours to be fleshed out. Hopefully, the sequel fixes that.
>>
>>387171471
>I can only hope that guy who made the first game
Erik Wolpaw was the co-writer for the first game, and he's back on the project.
>>
>>387171616
I love the scavenger hunt and memory vaults, but the moving figments were a genuine pain.

They're less of a puzzle or a test of skill, and more of just waiting around for the figment to fly out of a wall and within reach.

Just finished playing this game for the first time actually, I didnt expect it to be this good.

>>
>>387172373
I like it, but honestly the level made me a bit frustrated due to its unconventional structure and forcing me to go arrowhead grinding once I reached a part that required me to use the Cobweb Duster in order to move on. Though, that could be just my fault for not grinding sooner.

>world
I think Black Velvetopia has my favorite symbolism in the game. The whole idea of not being able to let go of meaningless painful events from the past to the point where you delude yourself and romanticize them to ridiculous degrees. Really clever.

>characters
The game was good at making incredibly unimportant characters distinct and likable.

The band kids and the storytelling kid back at the camp do virtually nothing the whole game but I always stopped to listen to them whenever I was in the lodge.

>Power
Clairvoyance was fun for the little bits of character insight it gave. Levitation was fun for letting me stop walking for the rest of the game.

>hopes for the sequel?
I actually really like what we've seen so far, but that's all visuals. I hope there's a similar flow to the story, and a comparable number of worlds and secrets to find.
>>
>>387173086
>tfw Milla will never play with your balls
>>
>>387173021
Yeah, using the Dowsing Rod is pretty much a must. And it's required to beat the game, because censors/enemies give you fuckall for arrowheads, and deep arrowheads are so much worth, so pretty much you need to grind. You should have enough for Dowsing Rod if you save tho.
>>
>>387172373
I think the humor and atmosphere's great, but I wasn't a huge fan of exploring all the copy-paste houses for the items needed to proceed.

And like >>387173021 said, needing to buy the cobweb duster mid-level was the only bit of the game where collecting arrow heads felt like it hurt the pacing.
>>
>>387172373
I think it sticks out to people because it's the first world that's truly, completely bizarre. It's unlike any previous world, and there's a lot of opportunities to mess around with your powers, especially clairvoyance.

Using the powers for combat was probably the weakest part of the first game for me, so the updates there look good so far. I like that you can actually move while psi-blasting and using telekinesis now.
