This game.
I absolutely loved it as a kid, and still do because of nostalgia, but holy shit is the gameplay weird and floaty.
The way some animals handle is kind of shitty, some animals are useless outside of 1 or 2 puzzles, and the hit detection is wonky as hell. Trying to carry or push an interactive object feels like they're all covered in butter.
The graphics didn't age so well either.

Great game for the time though, with a cool soundtrack, many levels (for the time) and a really good concept.
I wish it got a sequel, or at least another game with the same concept, because the original probably won't please newcomers.

Donkey Kong 64. Loved it as a kid, played it for the first time in over 10 years on the Virtual Console.

God damn, what a awful experience. It doesn't have the same sense of movement freedom SM64 does, and some of the minigames are filled with the pinnacle of bullshit.

I remember struggling a lot with that, not gonna lie, on my current save I haven't even managed to digivolve yet, I mostly tried to remember what to do and what not, the gameplay is just not as fun as i remembered so I put it on hold for a while.

Most GameCube games. I may still have fun with Sunshine, Air Ride, ect. but I will fully admit these games were not well designed. If I have learned anything from the GC, it's that Bad=/=not fun and if the PS3/4 has taught me anything too, Good=/=fun or engaging.

It becomes fun as fuck when you discover the "sacrifice strat" where you deliberately switch to 1 sacrificial lamb everytime he's about to use the attack, then the fight becomes a time limit to kill the boss before he downs your primary 3 digimon

I made a thread about it a while ago. Basically there are random difficulty spikes made by a bad checkpoint system, imprecise shooting, slippery camera and shitty escort missions. Controlling the vehicles and hoverboard for another other than just getting around is also fried dogshit.

As for Digimon World 1, I don't think it's shit, but maybe that's because I played it when I was young and I could tolerate a very complex game with almost zero handholding because the world was cool. The mechanics mean that you could lose the Digimon you've worked hard to raise before you make any progression at all. It takes some intelligence and a lot of trial and error (or a guide) to actually get anywhere. I suppose that is a bit of shit game design.

Man some days ago i saw a theat about this game on /v/. I used to love it back in the days, but i always got a shitmon or my moms just died for mistakes or battles.
But past weekend i played it again, and it still awesome. Mostly since I was able to play it right, ( got some nice moms. MetalGraymon and Waruseadramon, without much effort ). Anyway, great game

DMW2 i play every year or so, but mostly with turbomode on. Love the game, hate slugness.

Im playng DMW3 now on my android. Its fun, but the backtracking is really killing me.
