That's 100% what kind of game this is. It's hard at first, but when you know the area and the enemies you can get through quickly.
That White Palace area kicks your ass at first but eventually you're skipping off the top of everyone's heads to speed through.
I like games like that though so whether it's a flaw or not is up to you to decide.
