i honestly don't think sonic 1 is that fun.

sonic 2's last zones are very much just trail and error and i thr background of wing fortress is really bad at telling you what is solid ground or not.

sonic 3's marble garden zone is a chore, and the final boss feels a bit harsh.

sonic 2's i think requires a lot of trying before you figure out a safe strategy to beat him.

sonic cd is labyrinthine and time travel is just kinda confusing. not a fan.

& knuckles just has sandopolis act 2 really. i realy like most everything else about it

I agree with most of that, but I have no problem with either act of Sandpolis. Marble Garden does have a lot of shit that's counter intuitive to going fast (those ball enemies that float around with their spikes out and those swinging giant ball traps are huge offenders of this. Going on the first available upper path with put you up against a crusher, which most people will spin dash past, and then will instantly be followed by those big ass spike balls that swing back and forth, and then that's followed by a hidden spring that launches you into a spike wall if you have any momentum, and then there's a moving spike pillar beyond that, shit's just stupidly cunty).

Replaying Sonic 2 now, but I don't ever remember having trouble with the Wing Fortress, Oil Ocean, or Metropolis zone, outside of the enemies in it. Sonic 2's monkeys in Emerald Hill, the sea horses in oil ocean, and every enemy in Metropolis zone is super cunty though. I also remember Oil Ocean having an awkward path that forces you to go through the oil, but I haven't played that stage in a long ass time. Also yeah, the final boss of 2 is pretty vauge when it comes to figuring out how to even hurt the fuck, and the no rings with a boss before makes him even more annoying.

Some people have already commented a bug or two in this thread alone and I saw a guy spass the camera out after Studiopolis Act 1 boss which caused some weird graphical issues as it loaded in Act 2. The guy didn't pay much attention to it as he could continue playing properly but him and chat all went "wtf just happened" during the 10sec or so of waiting for camera to stop.

If I had my way I'd cut Metallic Madness and extend Titanic Monarch by one zone and add one entirely new zone somewhere back in the mid section of the game for the heavy that got shoved into Lava Reef.

Otherwise this game is near perfect.

One of the oldest Sonic Fan-Games. In a few months the game is 20 years old and it still gets updated to this day. It's based on the classic DOOM engine, has been in development since 1996, and yes, does feature an artstyle prominently based on DOOM. Shit's particularly good for Modding, because just like DOOM, all you do is pop in a .wad file. There's literally near millions of mods so go to the official forums to make this game a great experience.

I would be completely fine if they kept everything as close to the original trilogy as possible. Hell, Megaman 9 and 10 were smart enough to actually remove some of the features that later games got.
