I've seen it happen, but in March, and I only saw people playing Zelda. A coworker bought his Switch in to the office for Puyo Puyo Tetris, but that's about it.

I really haven't gotten out much since the system released, so I would have seen it even if people aroudn here did use it in public.

I just bought a Gameboy micro and even if I had a Switch, I'd carry around my micro much more often and play it outside much more often than I'd do with the Switch.

I could easily keep a DS or certain 3DS models in my pocket, flip it open, and play a little Pokemon or Tetris when I had a few minutes to kill. When it came to stopping, I'd just have to slip it back in my pocket without any problems. With the Switch, I'd have to take the case out of my mandatory backpack, undo the velcro, and then take out the console before playing. At the moment, it is. But it's not for lack of games. The system has only been out for about 6 months and has Zelda, Mario Kart, a couple of other decent first party titles. The usual suspects for a normal Nintendo release. The real problem is the fact that they're STILL putting too many eggs into the 3DS basket when the Switch is the true successor to both. The 3DS focus is what killed the Wii U and that one wasn't even a handheld.

I enjoyed Splatoon, but it didn't play it all that much, especially considering its a multiplayer game, where you can usually gather 100s of hours. I guesse I just don't like multiplayer on Nintendo platforms because a) the online is kinda shit and b) none of my friends play Nintendo. Which also means that in regards to the Switch, both ARMS and Splatoon 2, the two big titles right now, are uninteresting to me.
I don't have a problem with the Wii U failing. I didn't buy it, I won it. I can easily enjoy the little game collection I have for it, even though usually a collection that small wouldn't warrant a console.

I've seen one person with one, day 2 of launch. They said it wasn't hard for them to get because they pre-ordered the day it was announced within hours of the announcement, totally unaware of how absurd that is.

Just like the NES Classic I've come to accept that this is a system I'll always want to own and never get the chance to have.

I've seen a few people playing them in the break room where I work nobody gives a shit. Some people even go over and watch. Probably helps that they don't look like total spergs though
