Pretty easy. This game as impossible for me to beat as a kid, just couldn't stay focused for long enough or problem solve quick enough.
But you can replay the days, so if you just take your time to figure out everything, you can first explore, then replay the day with some very dedicated objectives.
Once you get the radar, things get a lot easier.

You can get everything you need within the first 15 days since you only actually need a few parts. Then you can spend a good amount of time looking at the scenery.

Wish there was a way to turn off the time mechanic, maybe on new game plus. Just want a comfy game exploring the world with pikmin. The time mechanic causes me a lot of anxiety.

Depends on how good you are at managing your time and multitasking. Personally I'm not good at it at all, and I dropped Pikmin 1 when I was on like day 28 with only about 16 parts.

I'm just not good at these games, it took me until day 80 or 90 to get 10000 pokos in Pikmin 2, and I'm on about day 128 or so now and still haven't finished it since I have to grind purple/white Pikmin because I don't have very many to use in dungeons that need them.

There's nothing to explore in Pikmin 2. The overworld is barebones and empty, while the dungeons are randomly generated and repetitive.

It's more "fun" to play with less anxiety about time and finding treasures that are real life items with funny names.

The trade off is that it is not challenging. It's very easy to complete the game with no Pikmin deaths since you can repeat any floor with the click of a button. There's no penalty for doing it, there's no penalty for taking too long, there's no penalty for letting you or all Pikmin die.

It's funny how this game was panned at the time for being just more Nintendo kiddie trash, but not many kids are actually good enough at time management and task concentration to get the perfect ending.

Once again, looks can be deceptive.

It's not like the time limit in Pikmin 1 is restrictive anyway, it's very easy to retrieve all the parts in 30 days even if you take your time. Pikmin 2 lacks that feeling of impending doom and has no real risks, but it does have the most diverse set of enemies and bosses and some tough moments like when this guy shows up. It's not like the game forces you to savescum, if you want a more challenging experience don't save between floors and it's easily as hard if not harder than Pikmin 1 and 3.

I love the game, but I'll always miss the C stick Pikmin movement. Get it if you can find a Wii U for cheap or emulate if Cemu can handle it, I don't think it's getting a port anytime soon because of the Gamepad focus.

it should work as a speedrun aspect, encouraging you to finish the game as fast as possible, not to block your joy of exploring the areas and replaying the game once you're done.

im a shitter and i managed with like 7-8 days to go on my first run. Just dont get side-tracked and have a clear part goal in mind. And then slack off the remainder or start on the next part.
