/v/ is so shit at videogames amazing.

I really enjoyed watching TI7 in the dota client. The main thing that puts me off Esports is twitch culture, I don't know what the fuck Kappa is and I'm sick of seeing it everywhere. In client I was able to talk and live shitpost with locals who could offer some insight into some of the decisions made by players. Had a few salty pseudochinks who couldn't handle some China=Finished bants but it was all good fun and much better than an endless unreadable twitchchat.

If you know dota it's exciting as fuck to watch because there's so much up in the air, picks are exciting, lane choice and early game is exciting, itemization and how team fights go down, split pushing from liquid when they were down was exciting as fuck.
Like any game/sport the groups that are hardcore into it focus on the players and barely talk about the game itself which creates a barrier to entry of discussion for those that don't commit to it heavily. I don't play/watch dota so much anymore just because the time commitment required is massive, other than that I think dota is a near perfect game because of the high skill ceiling and multiple complex interactions it has.

Overwatch is a very good game technically. Sound design, animation, visuals are top. Gameplay is questionnable but it got something enjoyable at all levels.
