there is nothing to suggest this is the case.
It's understandable to speculate why it was delayed so close to release but until a Denuvo notice or 3rd party EULA show up on the steam store there is no need to worry

With big companies like Sega once a game goes gold, which Mania has, the devs can't just work on fixing the game up until the release date. The game itself that comes out in two weeks is going to be exactly the same game that should be out today, no bugfixes. It's stupid but that's how it works.

This means, logically, that it is being delayed to do something OTHER than improve the game. Why wouldn't you assume the worst?

Whitehead, webber, the chucklefucks running the sonic twitter and the team on the retro forums by now should have seen the assumptions of the steam version being delayed to add denuvo or whatever bs DRM available and they haven't shot it down even once, just the users who are still getting mania on console doing damage control for them.

I have to assume the worst outcome and even if I'm wrong and its truly a game breaking bug I do not want to wait any longer to play mania on steam. I am not going to buy the switch/x1/ps4 (poorfag) and if they don't pop up with another surprise announcement saying "we fixed the bugs, all 4 platforms get sonic mania aug 15th" then I'm not buying it aug 29th I'm pirating it.
