As a PC gamer this really pisses me off even though I can easily afford it, and I generally won't pay for it on principle. The PS+ games mean nothing to me because I always have enough games that I actually want to play, and they aren't the ones that are on PS+. I paid for online while I was playing bloodborne, but that's it. I would only pay for online it if it's a console exclusive of extremely high quality that benefits from online. Bloodborne is the only game in that category for me, effectively making consoles singleplayer only for me. If such a time came when all the console exclusives had significant online-only tie-ins or were co-op/otherwise online based, I would probably quit buying consoles altogether.

Some of my favorite games of that gen were given to me for free by PS+ (Hotline Miami, Dragon's Dogma, Xcom: Enemy Unknown, at least 3 others I can't think of off the top of my head). with the PS3 they had to actually compete with the 360 due to their fucked launch. considering how expensive the PS3 was, while the 360 offered price tiers, free online became a selling point when 360 went with paid online.

It just doesn't feel right when you are used to playing online on PC as you can type messages.
