SFV has been my most enjoyed overall experience.

My first fightan was Killer Instinct then Tekken 2 and Soul Cal II for the PS2. Loved the Soul Cal series all the way through. I loved all those fighting games. So much. Melee is fun. Mostly because it kicks my ass trying to learn it. I respect it more than I enjoy it tho. I haven't played any other Street Fighter game than SFV but it really feels in a league of its own.

Street Fighter V has too many issues to be considered the best Street Fighter. Street Fighter IV was much better imo, and that game had it's own issues as well.

I like that SFV went back to it's roots in some ways, but then they added in the huge input buffer, crush counters, v-triggers and then took away stuff like proximity normals and diagonal jumping normals.

Two steps forward, three steps back.

The overall experience for me has been a joy to be around. I love the girls. The art style. The presentation. I wait for Cammy intro 70% of the time even tho I never play her because it makes me take a deep breath and smile. I love performing the abilities. V trigger is fun but I don't see any sense in rewarding defensive play. It is far more optimized than anything I've played. I wish I had played SFIV when it was popular.

kof 96 was fine, everyone was overpowered and had their quircks (though motion inputs where quite hard in that KOF)

kof 99 played fine, while it did have strikers, they werent an integral part of the game and it introduced Armor for all combatants.

And KoF 99 is a shitty game. If you want a good game with strikers, play 2000. You have more characters, more strikers, and you can have more fun with the strikers because you can call them out while doing other things. Like comboing.

it was the first anon, some game had to do it, even so, KOF games still have that feature.

96 was fine and fun, so much in fact that they continue to refine the game until they reached perfection with kof 98, like I said, everyone was overpowered in some way and the drastic change was a breath of fresh air compared to the old style of fighting games.

KOF 99 also played much like its predecesors and while you had the option to use strikers, the game didn't rely on them.

KOF 2000 while a good idea with the "call" the striker at any moment, the problem was with the strikers themselves, they were too easy to use and perform infinite combos (thus JOE was the best striker), still a fun game but flawed thanks to the easy infinite combos by the strikers.
