It's taken 12 hours and a third restart (restarts due to I set the enemies to too low, this time I left it default on enemies) to finally get... to this point of efficiency in the game.
What games don't hold your hand and will let you fuck up and do it wrong until you learn what's right?

Help me /v/. I think I'm going to have a heart attack.

I'm just learnin I gotta do more research. You see I'm on "automation 2"
What tips you got for me fampai?
>>387059412
Get another belt to put plates on and have them all stored in few crates instead of a single crate per burner.

>>387059095
Also using crates for now while I get everything else laid out. It took less time to make those chests than to think of and build where they need to go. I didn't want the storage of plates to max out at 100 each.
I usually build bases too small and unscalable. This time I'm doing branching stuff to allow building straight down. I'm not the best long-term planner, so that's just my inbetween.
I haven't even built an assembly machine on this map yet. Getting my ducks in a row.

Good advice. Thank you

Make busses (2 copper/iron plate lanes split into 4 lanes with splitters).
>>387059891
I haven't actually messed with splitters yet. Thanks.
I've got a main vein of ore being mined so the ore comes down with double lanes of ore, and I've got an inserter that grabs them and puts them on the road to the burners and such.
Should I use splitters for that function rather than inserters?

If you want to just have one lane of resources on a belt instead of 2 (bad idea!) you can do this with just belts; put four belts to make the T letter, with your ore coming from the bottom part of the T.
>>387060104
Yes I think that would be better. Keep 4 tiles between the busses btw and if you need iron plates etc for assemblers split them off the busses.
Other good busses would be for iron gears and circuits.

Thank you. Do you mind if I ask how long you've played?
I've beaten games in the time it's taken me to go from "fucking sucking" to "still fucking sucking"

Add about 10 hours for pirated version.
>>387060918
This too is a pirated version but I'm definitely buying this game after I move into my new house (everyfuckingbody wants deposits).
The guy has easily earned my $20.

Actually, turns out I have one screenshot in my library.
As you can see I have such high appetite for iron plates that I have two grade 3 conveyor belts bringing it in.
Rebuilding your factory to have better throughput is the most fun part for me.
>>387060918
Add about 20 minutes to the demo.

>all those crates
Jesus. I would highly suggest outputting those metal plates into conveyer belt lanes that feed to a single crate.
Don't let these guys discourage you. Factorio is all about learning how to become more efficient. That's the fun! I've restarted many times, and each time I got better as a result. Don't hesitate to look at the wiki as well as watch youtube videos of other people playing, if you want to learn a thing or two.
The easiest way to start figuring out how to become more efficient on your own will stem from a couple of early game things: basic factories and automation. Start mass-producing the most basic of materials and you'll see how quickly and efficiently you can start making the more complex stuff.
>OP doesn't know about the Blue Chems
You're in for a ride. A factorization ride.

It's a full blown team from prague, anon.

The Void is exactly this. I actually had to drop it because it was way too hard for me.
>>387058848
I fucking hate marketers. If you're going to shill your game then at least mention it, fucking retard.

Honestly if the entire /v/ board when to war, I'd say the factorio fags would win. Those bastards are fucking terrifying in their autism
