There were lost of sad endings but the one where the guy becomes a soldier stands out to me

Digital Devil Saga 2, looking at the party screen right before the final dungeon. It was as if the events of the last 15 hours hadn't quite caught up to me yet and then it all hit me all at once. I had to put the controller down and walk away for a little bit.

All of them are story heavy and you can go in any order you want but the release order makes it easier to see call backs and references in the later games. The stories are mostly self contained but reference each other. For example in Ace Combat Zero you can shoot down the mechanic in Ace Combat 5 back when he was a pilot but unless you played 5 first, you would have no idea that the otherwise not special enemy you shot down was important at all.

I felt like that at the end of Okami. With the way that game was paced it felt like it took me 300 hours to beat but it was only 70, but I never felt burnt out on it. The first three games in the Phoenix Wright trilogy also gave me massive melancholy when I beat them, and when I play them again I always feel it. A good friend of mine introduced me to the series one day back when I was in high school like 12 years ago. I haven't spoken to him in years and always remember those good times we had when I play those games again.

I felt that way at the end of Dark Souls 1. Call me a soulsbabby if you want, but that game scratched an itch I'd been having for a long time. It was like playing OoT the first time again. No, the real reason I was sad is that this is the highest quality of story and voice acting (in Japanese) that I have witnessed in a Fire Emblem game but it wasted on a piece of shit gameplay wise that I won't ever touch again because now that I finished it, I can freely judge it for being a shit game.

I could never blame zulf for having betrayed the bastion, but I cant help but wonder, did he not know it was a Ura that set the end of the world, or was it him just ignoring it.

Guess we will never know.
