Not a perfect game, But its still a worthy throwback to the original games, It would've been better if wasn't a tie-in to Forces with primarily remixed stages for nostalgia, If they were allowed to make primarily new stages it would've toppled S3&K.

An anon in the dead thread asked how we would handle a playable Rosey and Metal Sonic.

Amy doesn't roll into a ball when she jumps, but does have a short double-jump that also whips out her hammer and increases the radius of her attack to that of Sonic's Insta-Shield. Unlike Sonic Advance 1, she remains in an offensive state until she returns to the ground after double jumping. She can also Peel-Out but cannot Spin Dash, and has to destroy breakable walls using her double jump. Holding down while running causes her to start spinning along the ground with her hammer (front an upright position, like Espio's Spin Dash). This is essentially a Spin Attack with different sprites.

Metal has access to his Black Shield, which can cause him to hover horizontally through the air for about three seconds. It also reflects all projectiles. If Metal Sonic holds down while running, then this will also cause the Black Shield to generate. With the exception of also reflecting projectiles, this is essentially a Spin Attack with new sprites. However, if Metal performs a Spin Dash, then he'll move along the ground in the familiar ball form. If Metal Sonic runs at his top speed for five seconds, his turbines activate and he quickly accelerates, acting as though he just cracked open a Power Sneakers monitor box.

There we go. Amy and Metal Sonic given unique playstyles, while also keeping within the tradition of a single action button.

Sounds really tedious for Sonic's physics based gameplay, and you'd have to change levels for it even more than you would have to for Knuckles for that to even get close to working. If you want a play style like that it would be its own game that doesn't use the Sonic brand.
