Just to be in the know, is Project 64 the n64 emulator that's been worked on the most right now? It's been awhile but last I checked Ocarina use to have flickering grounds and that's all gone now.

I thought that but it's possible to be done well. No random battles and a combo system like one more in persona or smt is fun for me. A lot of jrpgs just try to be like final fantasy though and that's turns me away from them

Project64 is still considered "the best" not that it really means anything when talking about N64 emulators. Of course, you shouldn't have any problems playing a mega-popular game like Ocarina of Time though.

I fixed that with a different graphics plugin or changing the settings. Not sure which ones though, but it only took a few minutes.

OoT is still my favorite Zelda by a fucking mile and one of my favorite games period.
ALttP and Links Awakening are both awesome games I played through countless times (Especially awakening while taking young kid shits), but neither matched OoT.
Majoras Mask isn't even as good. Not even close.
And Jesus fucking help you if you think BOTW is anything but a fucking walking simulator.
