The tldr version of the October announcement is that Marza Animation (studio rumored to be creating the trailer) will have full rights to the trailer if Sony doesn't release it after October. Marza lists all the animation they've done with other companies that aren't SEGA on their website if they are allowed to.

According to some employee resume's they've done work on FFXV and The Last Guardian but aren't allowed to use that as Portfolio showcases. Also there are some listings on theses resumes that say they worked on "Ad for game" this year around March, which is when work on the trailer first started.

Sony isn't going to waste their time with another All-Stars, they don't have enough interesting IPs that merge together well. The reason Smash works so well is that all the characters blend together in one artstyle really well and all come from varying backgrounds with completely different fighting styles which makes for interesting combat.

I genuinely love the first game even though it has super blatant flaws. I wish they tried to improve on the super system instead of just putting life bars in, life bars are lame in plattform fighters.

The reason why it's getting revealed in October and not at PSX (other than having the rights to the CG trailer) is that they want to build up mystery to what the gameplay is at PSX.

The CG trailer will have Kratos, Morgana, Aloy. and Crash Bandicoot. The playable demo at PSX will have those 4 characters plus Noctis, Spyro, Nathan Drake, Ratchet and Parappa.

I think a company like capcom or sega would be a better candidate for a smash game. It works so well with Nintendo because they're famous for rehashing the same first party IPs over and over so the characters are iconic.

Most of the first party Sony characters aren't really that iconic. When I think of iconic "PlayStation" characters it's mostly 3rd party characters from the ps1/2 era. Snake, Cloud, Crash, Alucard, Dante, Spyro, Sora, Pyramid Head etc. When you think of iconic characters I doubt many people think of Colnel Radek or Cole.

If they're going to make another Sony smash game anyway, I at least hope they copy the smash formula a bit more and get rid of the stupid super system.

Crash had a pretty cool combo from what I remember. Discussed it in a previous thread, but it has Crash starting with his brawling moves from Crash of the Titans, then using some classic moves like the slide, his fruit bazooka and his body slam against Kratos.

Ap bursts do seem to be back from what I remember, though I don't know if they're as effective as the first game.

There is no vita version of the game. It does however have the same control layout as the first game on Vita if you're using remote play from PS4.

I think this could get more copies sold than Sm4sh, and possibly even Brawl seeing as they now have a better selection of characters and it's on the best selling home console of this generation. It's all down now to if the game is competitively viable at launch, and if they continue to support it for long enough. I have more faith in this sequel than I did for the first game after launch.

Sony likely approached all the companies currently involved the same way, by asking if they would be willing to collaborate by having their IPs feature in a crossover game. GameArts would then pitch movesets, and wait for feedback and permission from both the companies and the creative directors of the games the characters are from. Atlus were likely approached this way, and Sony are in good terms with Atlus as Persona 5 was a smash hit over in Japan.

I dunno guys, this leak seems really iffy to me. Either its fake and the leak anon has been pulling our legs, or its real and this game is really is a a legit thing.

But if it is legit or fake, one thing remains certain. There seems to be this feeling of something really fishy going on in these leak threads. Due to the fact the IP post count has been intolerably low in every thread, and also due to the fact there is an anon who asks questions in THE EXACT SAME FUCKING FORMAT in every single one of these threads.
