Old School Runescape if you're into hundreds of hours of autistic grinding like me, it can be played on basically anything. Plenty of nostalgia to be had and it's being supported nicely.

Yeah, I know, I've got KOTOR installed and I've been playing that but I haven't played either of those games

The Banner Saga is a nice turn-base rpg with meaningful choices, I don't know if it would run but it's worth a try.

Shadowrun returns is the first in release order, not sure about chronology.

While Kotor is an Rpg, JK is a first/third person adventure game.

Emulation would give you a lot of options on Nintendo systems and the PS1. I recommend Etrian Odyssey III if you don't mind jumping into a series on its third entry.

As far as RPG romhacks, there's a lot out there for Pokemon and Fire Emblem. Pokemon Prism is probably better than anything Gamefreak's made in the last decade. There's also Final Fantasy Tactics 1.3.
