What's the most recent game that has truly captured your attention? This is a game you think anbout when not playing and are eager to play as soon as possible. This may be a more relevant question for older gamers who find difficulty losing themselves in games when they have other commitments like work, college, relationships etc.
Deadly Premonition
Probably had my favorite cast of characters in the medium. A near masterpiece and I hope it receives a sequel somehow.
RE7 in VR was that game for me in January and February, right now it's PUBG.

Persona 5. I was always listening to the soundtrack at work and playing a few hours every night. Absolutely fell in love.
People don't like it.
Others are consumed by it.
I rarely see an in between.

The OP makes it read more like "the latest game [you played]" to be fair. You could just as easily argue that Nier came out like what, half a year ago? Get with the times.

Surprisingly, Ghost Recon Wildlands. Never expected to like it as much as I did.

Automata as well. Just finished Route C on my 2nd run through and I'm now convinced that it's a better game than the original

I like Nier A at first but spending 90% of the time running is quickly getting really old.
Kinda surprised it hasn't been posted yet, but BotW. It had been a while since I'd even finished a game and it was really exciting to be so drawn into it. Been looking for something else that sucks me in since.
