Do I seriously have to capture almost every monster in the game to get Auron's ultimate weapon? And ten of each monster to unlock Nemesis?
What the fuck were they thinking? Is it even worth doing?

They were pretty straightforward in the gba version of FF6. But yeah, FFX is fucking ridiculous with this shit.
I already created the ultimate weapons for Lulu, Tidus, and Rikku. And all of them were horribly tedious to get. Are the other ones really not worth it?

What? The ultimate weapons are in the post-game super dungeon.
If anything, the game is harder overall than the SNES version, since the evasion stat actually works. Meaning that enemies with high evasion actually have high evasion.

That wasn't nearly as bad. It was tough, but capturing literally every monster in the game is a huge escalation.

Nah, I'm talking fully upgraded. Getting their weapons is significantly easier than upgrading them. As I mentioned in the OP, I fully upgraded the weapons for Lulu, Tidus, and Rikku already. So yes, I did the 200 lightning bolts in a row, among other things.
