Will game graphics ever reach a point where they're realer than life?

I love mai boy

how can graphics be realer than life
show me 1 (one) example of this

Models generated from particles even smaller than atomic particles?

human eye cant see atomic particles reetard

There's been videos on certain TV displays where I can legit make out like pores on people's skin and shit better then I can in real life, so maybe?
>>
There is very little potential left to improve graphics with conventional videocards. Here's what 2 gtx titans can give when you switch from shitty video game rendering techniques to something which can achieve photorealism:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yGKy4hTZKU

As you can, tons of GPU generations are required until at least 30FPS can be achieved. Meanwhile transistor die size is approaching single atom sizes and there is no much room for die shrinks left.
>>
Never but there's always ways to create really specific situations that can be considered impressive to look at that would be incredibly hard to recreate in real life.
>>
Not really, since whatever we're looking at will always be capped by what our eyes and our brain can process. It can't really get any more "real" than what's possible for our eyes to capture and our brain to interpret.
And assuming you're somehow able to forego what your eyes capture, and capture that differently and "better", the question would still be how the brain handles that new information.

how do you know they havent already?

I'm curious about graphics reaching a point when Mortal Kombat turns into literal snuff.
>>
>>386935742
No. They might reach real time ray tracing, but thats unlikely in our lifetimes.
>>
>>386935742
That is not possible because objects in real life are not how you actually see them through your shitty eyes, and since videogame representation of those objects are based on human perception, the graphics will always look like a cheap imitation of the real thing
>>
>>386937810
past that point already

NVIDIA are going Multi Core Units (Dual-Quad GPU cores on a single card)

But yeah even WITH That with 4x15.x teraflop gpu's we're a long way off.
>>
you're in one
>>
>>386937881
Not exactly. I think that raytracing something circa 2008 is possible on like 10x high end cards, but that will hardly constitute as photorealism. And that GPU will probably never fit on practical home computer video card.
>>
>>386938187
And then the have you account for the ridiculous resolution sizes people are asking for these days. 4k and up.
Its not going to happen before we're in the grave.
>>
>>386938280
yep 4k fags made sure realtime raytracing won't happen
>>
>>386935742
well, no digital render can ever be REALER than real life, as real life is, my nigga, the realest.

Don't know anon, i can still look at mkx and dismiss all that gore as "videogame" violence, the closest that game has been to make me cringe in disgust was during Mileena's fatality so i guess we are getting closer.
