Windjammers/DiscJam is a great gf/non-gaming friend type game.
Overcooked is decent, but the complexity can lead to arguments.
Don't listen to anyone that says Portal 2.
Civ is a surprisingly good series if you play simpler than you're used to.

There is this really fun tetris game where you control wizards and you have powers and shit.

Its like, a tetris fighting game in a sense....someone here must know the name, but it is pretty good.

Really wont get much multiplayer couch co-op stuff unless its indie stuff like that.

Towerfall is another game, but it gets old a bit quick, best played with more people imo.

Such a shame. Where's the 007 - Everything or Nothing, or Splinter Cell, where there are custom couch co-op campaigns? Instead the best we get are ports of Borderlands and tetris.

We enjoy diablo 3 couch-coop, tend to drop it once we've geared up and come back when new builds/sets/season

Playing gauntlet together is also pretty fun

As usual, online ruined everything
