Is this an acceptable to play RE1? If so, should I play on classic

just play whatever version you want. remake fags will complain if you don't play it, purists will complain if you don't play the original.

I played RE1 before playing REmake, and I'm glad I did. I had a lot of fun with RE1, and it was great seeing all the additions and improvements that REmake had (along with the parts of RE1's arrange mode that carried over to REmake).

The DS version is a faithful port of the PS1 albeit with poorer graphics. My problem is not on the game but in the controls since you need to press hard on the controls for the turns on the DS. Rebirth has some touch functionality added to it and some added encounters and other items placements iirc. Overall it's a good port both for the nostalgia fags and casuals alike.

Best version of the original game with a bunch of quality of life improvements like quick turn, reloading, and knife button. The only problem is that DS D-Pad is fucking garbage.

This is my biggest problem with the DS. Any games that need constant diagonals with will destroy your thumb 10 mins or so.
