Its not backers, its for everyone who bought it prior to the treasure trove change which made it so all the DLC could be bought independently.

Basically up to a point, everyone got the DLC for free, but then they made it so any future copies have to buy it on its own.

It was alright. Shantae GBC is still the gold standard they've yet to touch again. I was hoping HGH would be them trying to go back to it but it turned out to be something different. Not disappointed since the hardcore mode made it a lot better.
