It totally will. The translator is more experienced(yeah, it's not the same guy but you know what I mean) and unlike back in day, the translation team has actual understaning of how the engine works, so text won't overflow and half the names won't be in Japanese.

If you're looking forward to Evenicle, Rance Quest might be to your interest too. Alicesoft pretty much took the system used in Quest, refined it and made it more like normal JRPG.
Quest's actual gameplay mechanics are pretty weird, it doesn't really play like other JRPGs out there.

Rance Quest is basically MGSV of the series. It does some really cool things, but some really stupid bullshit too.
But unlike MGSV, Quest actually got an expansion that fixed the problems fans had with the game. Thankfully that is the version getting English release.

Series started in '89. It's endured so long adding voices legit can piss people off since before 03 we all had our own ideas for what everyone sounded like. Plus the cast is HUGE and hiring actors for every single one would inflate the budget and datasize 10 fold.

Recently had a chance to play Sengoku Rance and its a solid game but some of the thing piss me off.
It takes ages to get the 3rd fan action, there is a countdown to forcing you to fight the final boss, and not being strong enough when Honnojis event happens means you are fucked.
Got stuck at the end because despite leveling up like mad I couldnt win the first fight against Xavier.
Also fuck the forced fight against Tenshi sect on turn 21, they are annoying as fuck to beat because of 3 castles and 1000 troops in each unit.
The game forces you to play it one way and if you try to do something outside of what is just plainly the best move then you better win quick because if you fuck up you will be stuck fighting 2 wars at once and making headway is slow.

I totally think it is. Sengoku beats it when it comes to gameplay, but VI isn't bad either. After playing fuckton of JRPGs, Rance VI's story easily stands among the best. Not because it'd answer some deep philosophical questions, but because the characters and plot are just really nice.
The actual battles aren't anything special, but the dungeons in VI are really nice. Given how popular it was in Japan, I'm surprised more devs didn't take notes from it, but nope. The flat Raidy-dungeons are still the norm in everything else.
...But yes, it is worth playing.

Alicesoft recently put up add for looking Rance X testers, with note that they need three times as many as normal, since the game is going to be fucking huge with tons of branches.
The screens they've shown of the map also have date, so some events are going to be on timer. That might split some opinions, but personally I like it when there's significantly different content to do on repeat playthroughs.

Only upgrades I got were +1 all stats at the start, calling in the magic girl and telling Maeda Toshiie to become a kabuki actor which didnt really do anything.
Guessing that calling in reinforcements is the best thing to do but it is not always there for me to do.
I also sorta fucked up and picked a fight with Tokugawa, took 2 castles and he went 8 catagories apeshit at me and fucked me up while I had to do with some religious dicks who declared war on me as well.

Listen to Rance at beginning, always be at war all the time. Some countries have events where they declare war to you when certain conditions are filled if you're not at the war yet, so going to war against somebody you're not prepared for sucks.
Never vassalize anybody. It's useless.
Take a look at your objective screen, that should have images of gourds over some countries. Try to avoid those, go after other ones. There's a reason for that which will become apparent later.
Always try to use all your commanders in a turn, winning a fight gives them more units.
Save going to dungeons until you have decent amount of good commanders.

I'd suggest going for that, but drop the guide immediately after. The game is enjoyable, you don't really need it until you've done 3+ playthroughs and want to get everything.

Sengoku Rance is a 9/10 game easily. It would be a 10/10 weren't for:
