If it weren't for the fact that DmC's combat is watered down garbage with shit bosses I would maybe agree with you.

DmC had a nice varied campaign with cool enviroments but the gameplay and bosses were a straight up downgrade no matter how you spin it.

Nah. People overrate the gameplay in 3 and 4. Styles is a shit system, I fucking hate not being able to pull off my entire arsenal of moves on a whim, I much preferred DMC1's system and DmC's is actually my favorite since weapon switching is instantaneous and takes out the need for menus entirely. Also, you have shittiness like repetition of bosses in 3.

Vanilla DmC does have problems, but there's Definitive at least, which in my opinion makes it better than 3 and 4.

I think he's partially right, DmC was at least a full game, unlike DMC4. Neo-/v/ sure forgot the times of its release, but I'm still mad.
That's why I'm scared about the development of DMC5, Capcom couldn't top DMC3 at its best, they sure can't do it right now.

DMC3 had limited styles because of memory limitations and DMC4's style switching isnt a problem if you actually take the time to learn the game.

DmC's angel and demon modes are basically just butchered styles. Dante lost more moves than he gained in DmC.

Fags need to understand that DMC3 was not a successor to DMC1. It is it's own thing that has overtaken the series identity more towards a glorified Musuo where you're fighting the ranking system instead of aggressive enemies . DMC1 is the successor to beat em ups with more interesting environments, music, and enemy design. There's lethality, something DMC3-on lacks thanks to overly focusing on comboing passive enemies.
