I wanna talk about how Unreal Tournament 3 was a lesser game than we deserved after 2k4 was such a masterful evolution of the series, mostly because the name doesn't even make any damned sense. You're not participating in a Liandri combat tournament, you're in a war that they tried to frame in the context of the usual game modes associated with UT. It felt like they wanted to make both an Unreal 3, and an Unreal Tournament 3, and decided to split the difference. Plus the modding community was far sparser for 3, which I personally feel diminished its longevity significantly.

The plot in every Unreal game EXCEPT Unreal 1 fucking sucked. The whole point of every UT was "What's face like this time" and, in the case of 2k4, "Let's play some ONS." UT3 was much slower, floatier, and less colorful then previous games. This last point is important because being good at previous games meant being able to pick out a red jacket against a brown background faster than they could pick out a blue one. In 3, it became a washed out chore to do so.

Best thing to do is either run bordered windowless or run up a second monitor and get your resource monitor going while playing a game. Whatever's pegging out is causing your problem. I'm willing to go out on a limb here and back up your friend. Hard drives that don't have much swap space to move the data into RAM seem to struggle on that front more. I gave God Wars Future Past a fair chance and just couldn't get into it after a week of playing. I'm not really an SRPG enthusiast, but I have enjoyed quiet a few to completion. The core game play feels incredibly tedious and tough missions feel like a slog with all the healing that draws out extra turns. The extras in the SE are pretty nice though.

Super Castlevania 4 is pretty good, and I have a strong nostalgic tie to 64, even though it's pretty mediocre in the light of day. Good for a drunk playthrough late at night with a bud though.

In terms of other Metroidvania, I like Axiom Verge, Metroid Fusion, Super Metroid, and the fan game AM2R was high-quality as well.

Leaky dick syndrome, cant lift weights anymore, have a hard time running, biking used to be great, not so much anymore. Dropped out of irl school and continued with a few online classes. No job because of paranoia of someone finding out that I involuntarily pissed myself, or that I have to wear diapers in public. Ended up digging myself into a hole and moved back home with mom, who is going through her own fair share of surgeries and cant really hold up a job of her own. I know I'm a few paper towels crammed down the front of my pants away from not really having a problem, but man - I was doing really well for the months preceding this. For the first time I felt like I had shit in order and I was on a roll that was only going to get better.

Annnnnnd then this. Though this isn't a 'commit suicide' level of problem, the associated thoughts of what my life currently is and what it might have been, and then how long it will take me to get where I want to be, just makes me want to not anymore.

Reddit has a sub for this subject, so I've been posting/reading through there. Was going to a few doctors, but my insurance through my parents ran out a few months ago, so I've been paying out of pocket from what I had left and then just not going to the doctors. I applied for medicaid today, which, when I look at myself makes me feel like the hand is in the cookie jar, even though that's really not the case.

I'm trying. Some days are better, some days are worse. So far, nothing really concrete, or providing a substantial change.
