The whole gist of the image that it's a cute picture of Keisuke being stuck carrying Ami's shopping, and wouldn't work with 2 male characters. They also choose the most popular and recognizable starters, which shows that they wanted the image to be as broadly appealing as possible rather than some declaration of official canon or whatever.
