>devs ruin an old classic with unnecessary bullshit
What's the video game equivalent of this?
color combos are fun
mono is boring
Who /simic/ here
>>386869637
Pokemon
Multicolor decks have always been a thing
>>386869787
I didn't think I would ever enjoy playing Blue until I tried a Simic deck. The combination of giant smashy creatures, combat tricks, and denial GU provides feels really fun to me.

>someone declares blocker vs my phat cloudfin raptor
>bounce their blocker
>they cast removal
>counter it
You can see the rage in their heart

Pokemon
>>386869637
Yugioh was always better
>tfw no digital Magic client
>>386869637
Reminds me I need to sell all my cards.
>>386870786I use tabletop sim with my mates
The Shadowrun remake. RPG mechanics in an arena shooter was a stupid idea, and the maps were linear too.
>>386870673
And yet you're still blocked.
>>386871194
Doesn't matter kiddo, they just lost tons of value
>>386871275
Then why did you post all that unnecessary shit when you could have just said "I bounced one of their creatures and countered some removal" instead of saying something that makes it sound like you don't even know the rules?
>>386871275
>>386871535
Or more accurately, why the fuck didn't you bounce their blocker -before- attacking?
>>386870419
I LITERALLY CAN'T STOPsucking dicksPLAYING BANT
>>386871632
This.
>>386870673
Note that they're down one card, their removal spell whereas you're out two, your bounce spell and your counterspell. They were probably mad they agreed to a game with a retard.
>>386871194
Depends on whether the creature had trample or not; if it had trample, bouncing it in battle would still be fine.
>>386872679
I think he would have mentioned that.
>>386872840
let me remember to include all my buff cards applied to the PHAT cloudfin next time(You)
>>386872489
I mean, you are the retard here, he's down two cards, the blocker (for which he will have to pay for twice, and deal with summoning sickness twice) and the removal spell.
>>386872984
You had two posts to explain why you weren't a retard for bouncing a blocker after attacking, but you did not. Don't get mad when everyone calls you a retard for making posts that essentially say "I'm a retard".
>>386869637
I do think commander products are related to the decline of the game, but not for any of the reasons you mention. Your "magic then" descriptions were never accurate.
Izzet guild best guild.
>>386873035
>he's down two cards, the blocker (for which he will have to pay for twice, and deal with summoning sickness twice)
"A cards worth of mana" is not the same as "a card", anon.
>>386873405
I mean, that's fair enough, but -depending on the card bounced and other factors- most of the time I wouldn't call that whole trade unfavorable for the blue player.
>>386873405
You're deck is closer to 0 than his is. You lose. Deal with it.
>>386873356
This. I love commander but when all they print nowadays is shitty Timmy cards in standard sets it makes me not want to even go to FNMs and especially prereleases. Also with how badly they've neutered all removal and the game becomes "whose board is more cluttered with creatures" I've given up on standard as a whole.
>>386869637
I'm just a Mono-green Elemental with a mishmash of Landfall, Hydras, and Wurms.
Not humans or elf-ears allowed in my deck, unless you make me mana
>>386869637
healing wasn't viable until very recently. I think even know it's really used in one deck thanks to a few creatures that get buffed when heals happen. Sometimes you might side in healing vs burn, suicide, or dedicated agro decks.
It will always be a niche mechanic because it doesn't advance board position nor does it close the game.
Terrible image that shows a complete lack of understanding of mtg.
>>386869637
>You're not allowed to build a theme
>You're not allowed to make multi-color
Fuck off
>>386874085
/thread
>>386874085
I don't know how anyone could have fun with a mono deck. It's too restricted. And green black elf decks are too much fun.
>>386869637
My old wow gm is one of the lead card devs for MTG, crazy small world
>>386869637
>using C17 as an example
The reaction to C17 has been nobody likes them. They're awful precons.
>>386874498
I just run a shitton of land-generation and I just like my dynamic/theming a bit more than most. I'll probably branch out sooner or later.
Halo
>>386874654
All of wizards commander decks are shit, they have no idea what makes commander fun and thinks that they can just break the game instead of designing something interesting.
Seriously any commander from a "commander set" is so fucking broken and boring.
>he doesn't play Legacy
Explain yourself.
>>386873736
There's that, and the fact that they now release 5000 sets a year targeted at all these different market segments when they used to just focus on standard. I'm sure it's good for Hasbro's bottom line but it doesn't feel sustainable.
>>386869637
>announced that the yearly commander product would be tribal theme
>wtf, why are they tribal themed?
You're an idiot.
That being said, this is quite possibly the worst commander precons yet.
>barely any actual tribal support gets printed.
>>386874654
Understandable. The only decent tribe among them that needed a good commander was cats, and all of the legendaries aside from many the Jund cat and artifact dragon are complete ass.
Just got her in a random booster and she is my very first legendary
What should my deck be?
>>386876342
What format? Regardless of you should also use Nest of Scarabs too for more tokens
>>386876342
>get a card with clear and obvious synergies that automatically lead the deck in one direction
Gee anon, I wonder.
>>386876342
-1/-1 pseudo-snake tribal
(Grim Affliction, Obelisk Spider, Pharika, Obelisk of Urd, Coat of Arms etc)
>>386875002
Too expensive
