Ive been considering getting this game on PC, but I am unsure because I hear the grinding is fierce and that if you want to specialize in something, you still have to grind every other thing anyways. Is this true?

Why would someone care about it anyways? Console players already played it, PC players got it in the meantime too and it even runs on toasters. There's no sense in re-releasing this game at this point anymore. It doesnt even has the Guts and Grifith sets anymore because of licensing.

There's no grinding unless you want some really specific super armor etc.
The main game and addon can be finished without any grinding at all.

The combat is so enjoyable you're going to love fighting anyway.

Played it on launch, and bought Dark Arisen but never got to the additional content. I held out for a couple of years bitching about them not just porting it to PS4 as well, but as soon as I get a new GPU and hop back into peeceegayman they suddenly port it.

The game has hybrid/advanced classes which are an extension of the basic classes and some of the progress (some skills and augments) carry on between certain classes. Considering how you can only access advanced/hybrid classes after getting to the capital city, this is pretty much a non-issue.

You get to fully customize one party member, and can fill the other two slots with other people's customized party members
If you really wanted, you could make 3 accounts and customize all of them yourself, but there's no shortage of attempted waifus to choose from in the rift

I'm only excited its coming out again for the prospect of some changes that update it and could also be on the PC version.

Be warned that recruited pawns don't gain experience. They earn rift currency based on how much experience they would have gained. If you recruit a level 10 pawn and you and your main pawn gain 10 levels, you will be level 20 and that pawn will still be level 10.
It encourages you to rotate through pawns.

Like with the Valkyria Chroniicles re-release, the game has already been talked to death back when it was on PS3 and then PC.

It's a great diamond in the rough that is very refreshing to play considering that it doesn't hold your hand as much as many other open world RPGs while also having several unique ideas.

This is not "offline MMO", this is what a standard RPG used to be. Do you think Baldurs Gate 2 is an offline MMO because you can't shit on dragons and shit at the very start?

This is not really a pro, since it makes your sense of growth weak. That game also gates you way harder than DD and other more classic RPGs.

I don't see how it'd be possible with the way the servers work. Would your pawn be deleted or locked if your subscription runs out? Sounds like a programming hassle and Capcom wouldn't get anything from it anyway.

Dark Souls is very primitive when it comes to combat, I will give you that, but shockwaves is a fucking meme for the most part. I was hoping they would expand on this basic formula, but they just ended up shitting out the same game 5 times in a row.
