this is a kinda neat idea too. resident evils might be just about the right kind of open ended for this, unfortunately you wont be able to do much movement stuff i dont think. could be zero suit samus getting caught in a space pirate attack tho.

my vote is for dk64 tho. different kong powers are different suit abilities. already has guns. already has crazy levels already has bosses.

That's not true, SM64 is the easiest N64 game to hack, and it's still not all that straight forward.
I'm saying this as someone who used to mod SM64, OoT, and attempted to get into Perfect Dark.
As far as I can tell there's been no romhacking progress on Jet Force Gemini.

I'd just stick to Goldeneye or Perfect Dark since they are currently hackable.
If you wanted to hack JFG you'd have to learn ASM coding to find out how the game is put together and make the tools yourself.

I really don't know, but that's how they do it, Assembly and other HEX shitte, reverse engineering.
There's a reason there are so little Romhacks outside of SM64, because it's hard as fuck to crack games open, even Ocarina of Time in the state of modability it's in is still hard to do.
Same reason the head guys of big OoT mod projects like ZethN64 and Flotonic just drop off the face of the earth.

The card contains the ROM. Everything is in the ROM.

They have to reverse engineer the rom before they can start engineering it forward again.
Even in the case of Ocarina of Time, which hackers have a leaked dev debug rom of, it's still extremely limited.
You'd need an actual in development rom and an N64 development kit in order to have easy access hacking.
