Do you know your parents' ability with computers? IT is scaled for them. And the thing is the relatively super basic stuff they recommend for us(restart computer, run anti-virus, etc) actually probably works for whatever stupid problem they have. Video game IT is probably aimed at 10 years old or those of that mental age in contrast.

An actual person capable of understanding all the niche problems that many relatively experienced computer users could not figure out would not realistically come into existence or be in IT.
