Why does Demon's Souls have better graphics than Dark Souls even though it came 2 years earlier and had smaller budget?

It uses bloom effects quite nicely though & it gives it a dream like feel at times, DaS is flatter without such a thing

It's the effects, stupid. Bloodborne had magnificent use of effects as well which leads me to believe Sony had something to do with both games having better graphics than their contemporary DaS titles.

Best one was the reused Undead Burg floor textures in King's Passage that look completely out of place to the point that I assume that they're placeholders that they forgot.
But then again, King's Passage as a whole was B-team's magnum opus of not giving a fuck.
