In 2006, Yugoslavia was still united as Serbia and Montenegro. It was after this split that all the Yugoslav states were seperated (sans Kosovo). Yugoslavia probably still existed when GTA IV started development. Niko is probably Serbian, anyways.

I meant the pronunciation of Bellic is anglicized, it's supposed to be pronounced Bell-itch, not Bell-ick. Cravic and Brevic were pronounced correctly and are both Serbian names, Bellic was not.

Several people are from countries that no longer exist; anyone born in Czechoslovakia, halves of now unified countries (East/West Germany, North/South Vietnam, etc), Burma, Yugoslavia, USSR, etc.

Niko is old enough that Yugoslavia would have still been a country.
