I just got a Rift and I'm already tired of the standing games. Superhot VR was fun for an hour but after a while it's just a pain in the ass having to stand to play video games.

I rather the sitting games, tbqh. I'm having a lot of fun with Dreadhalls, Lucky's Tale, and Chronos.

I'm waiting for the Alien Isolation VR mod to have it's bugs fixed before I play that.

Hey anons, just wanted to get your opinions again of how a VR general could be done on 4chan. I've posted generals on /g/ so far but they often die in like the middle of the day since many times I'm not there to bump it.

I chose /g/ because /vg/ doesn't have much of an active catalog browsing user base, and because threads move faster there so dead threads die quicker. I can't do /v/ because no generals allowed here, and because the threads also move extremely fast so it'd die even quicker.

The godrays on the other hand.... It's the only issue I have with the Rift. PSVR has shit resolution and tracking, but at least it doesn't have any godrays.

I almost went with the Rift. The main reason I didn't is because I have thick glasses which I heard is less than ideal for the Rift.

I'm honestly surprised how many games there are for VR. I didn't think there would be so many. Are there any cool free applications like Google Earth that are neat?

I would never use a Rift with glasses, it squishes them into your face and it's a pain in the ass to put on/take off.

On the other hand, I couldn't imagine not having integrated audio. The headphones on the Rift are so convenient.

Just ordered the Rift since it was on sale. I would have preferred the Vive but at 800 bucks vs 400 I feel the price difference was just too large. Plus, I think Gen 2 headsets are on the horizon so I don't feel too bad going with the cheaper option.

I think I'll be using it the most for porn, but def going to try Skyrim and Fallout 4 when they come out.

The Vive has a headphone jack on the back cables. I just use my regular headphones that I normally use when I game. Doesn't hinder anything.

I know it has a headphone jack, but you still have to put them on and take them off every single time, and it's an extra wire in the way. Plus, headphone jacks break extremely easily. Constantly plugging something in and out of them will fuck it up real quick.

I don't need teleportation for locomotion. My brain is advanced enough to handle separate head and stick/body motion just fine. So if they just went back and added actual VR support to older games, I could just sit on my ass all day and frag.

I thought so too... I have $300 headphones, but I haven't even considered it after hearing the integrated audio. The quality is way better than I expected. Obviously my headphones are better, but it isn't worth the hassle of having 2 separate things on my head.

I get motion sickness so I need to find some games that don't involve moving, like that freebee building/puzzle game that comes with the vive.

I get motion sickness very easily and the only game that fucked me up is ADR1FT.

As long as you turn camera sensitivity to max your brain doesn't even realize what's going on when you turn. Putting the camera sensitivity to low really makes me sick, though. Most games also use teleport which is impossible to get sick from.

I find the integrated audio to be a bit piercing at times and I own AKGs. Also not enough bass as closed phones for those times I want that too. They're acceptable, especially for the comfort and convenience, but once they're on your head those things don't matter as much unless you're playing for like 5+ hours.

I've played many "Vive only" games on my Oculus... SteamVR treats the Rift and the touch controller as a Vive and Vive controllers if the developer doesn't have native support for them.

Most of the games that don't support the touch controllers are pirated and the updates that added support have never been cracked.

sold my Vive because there's fuckall to play on it. once the initial thrill of wiggle gimmicks wears off, you'll get bored and go back to dark souls and standard controllers.
