Awakening was one of the first things they actually marketed heavily and that's because it was one of the few games they invested in in the 3ds's early life. For the life of me, I will never understand why they didn't just make Warriors an adaptation of Heroes.

You have your twin OC protagonists who are royalty fighting against an evil kingdom ensnaring heroes from other worlds to fight for them. Alfonse, Shareena, and Anna round out the weapon triangle to start, and you can even have the Summoner/Kiran be a character using the gun to fight. You have Veronica and Bruno as villains, and have the story play out where you have to visit the World of Myster/Awakening/Birthright/Conquest if you're absolutely stuck on just using those three.

Like for fuck's sake I'm sure the mobile game started development after they started work on Warriors but there's so much overlap conceptually that the fact that they have nothing to do with each other is insane. A shitty mobile game should not be a better celebration of a franchise than an actual video game.

To be fair, there are only three wyvern riders in Fates, with one of them being Camilla's subordinate and another being a Corrinsexual. And I don't know if there even is another horse mage. Considering the Fates poll results in comparison to the Heroes poll results, it's obvious that Femui got a big push from the female crowd.

FE Warriors isn't getting anywhere near the same amount of hype Hyrule Warriors did because the latter game was much more successful in stirring up people's nostalgia and letting you actually play as other characters for the very first time.

The problem for this game is pretty obvious: the cast is very uninspired. SD/Awakening/Fates fatigue has already settled in over the fanbase, and Shadow Dragon was never popular in the west. At the same time, it's too late for Koei to course correct, so all they can do is move forward.

Ike is definitely going to be the Lu Bu character of the game -- Koei would have to be absolutely retarded to not put him in the game without a significant role, otherwise they would upset a lot of the base. This has also lead to the fear that they're planning on locking most of the popular characters behind DLC, which would be a Capcom-level fuckup.

A thief character like Gaius would use that dumb anime sword style where they hold it backwards behind their arm and also probably incorporate kicking and shit. Don't know why some of you are getting so hung up over the sword part like all swords are exactly the same. Chrom, Lucina, Ryoma, and the twins use their swords in pretty boring fashion because they all use a standard vanilla one-handed sword style. But then there's Xander who's on a horse and Corrin who mixes in her transformations. Then there's katana users like Lonk or Hana who would use iai, which despite being another sword, is more unique offers more diversity than a polearm.

I'm inclined to believe it if they want to keep it to realistic adaptation of FE games in which you have around 10-12 hero units on any given battlefield to command.

Being able to switch between the hero units and order them to go to different positions on the map seems like the developers known that they're making an FE game.

Also learning that certain units like Wyvern Riders and Pegasus Knights can reach certain areas other units can't definitely adds to the impression they know what they're doing since those same units usually can fly over mountains and water terrain in the traditional FE games.

I for one am excited to see how everything plays out since it seems like the devs get what FE means.
