Is it just me or is this game "cheaper" than DS1? I

Is it just me or is this game "cheaper" than DS1? I can't catch a break from the constant hordes of enemies, traps, enemy ambushes and other bullshit, it's so stressful. I 'm at Profaned Capital now.

I think the fast paced gameplay doesn't fit Dark Souls that well, it's more a BloodBorne thing, DS1 was kinda comfy compared to this

I actually felt there was less traps and environmental hazards, other than poison swamp, than in a typical souls game and that the game did focus on throwing more enemies at you instead.

The traps in DS1 were fun and felt adventurous, DS3 it's like almost all chests are mimics and when you go pick up an item 10 guys pop out from nowhere, it's not very fun and imaginative

I 100% agree, but I think the polish in combat controls is one thing that 3 managed to do pretty well, and so I think the fast paced combat isn't out of place enough to be considered a flaw rather than just being different

This is how I felt during all of DS2. I would go to a new area, Harvest Valley for instance, and think to myself "wow, what a cool area with a unique concept! I can't wait to see what kind of cool mechanic or idea they'll use here" and then go on to find absolutely no creativity and an extremely short level.

The game is also pretty scary at times, i played at night and i live alone and sometimes some enemies screamed so loudly that it made me jump, but i'm not complaining about that just something i noticed

If we're including earthen peak with harvest valley (which it might as well be) then I actually think that section is fairly lengthy and developed. Other than the meme elevator and windmill I don't see why this stretch of the game is so hated.

I had no problems breezing through some of the areas, the fucking bosses, however.

>Know what we should do? Have a two part fight where the second phase boss has 3 different AOE's, can lunge at you from just about anywhere, and can combo into his AOE attacks whenever
>Know what would be great? Let's have a boss that has a crossbow, a fuck-huge greatsword and miracles, but let's make his attacks unpredictable as fuck and have him spaz out everywhere like he's been smoking crack, oh and he has an AOE explosion AND can fly around because, why not.
>People really hated the Gwyndolin fight in ds1....what if we did that, but set him on fire and had it regularly use an attack that steals your life and fills the entire screen with arrows!

The bosses were the best part of this game.
Twin Princes is probably my favorite boss from all the games and Aldritch's arrows were fine.

And because no game is perfect we have that retarded tree boss.
