I want to play a sci-fi game what will make me feel and think.
All genres all settings, bonus for rpg games and light cyberpunk settings.

Is DEX any good? http://store.steampowered.com/app/269650/Dex/

>you gain brosuf

I guess I can give it another try
>>
The original deus ex and human revolution
>>
>>386782981

I liked Dex more than Deus Ex
>>
Portal
E.Y.E
XCOM
Dishonored
FTL
Killer is Dead
Warframe
Blade Symphony
Republic Commando
Ninja Blade (really good cyberpunk ninja game)
Planescape Torment
A Signal from Tolva
Fall out series
Tacoma
Head Lander
>>
>>386782981
Original Deus Ex is exactly what you are looking for.
>>
Can't recommend Transistor enough, I liked it even more than bastion. If you don't already know, it's a sort of sci fi narrative driven game with a great atmosphere and beautiful art, and a pretty cool unique combat system

Get Frictional's SOMA game, has some light horror aspects but the story is great and compelling.

If you pick up the game don't kill the WAU, he's the real last hope.
>>
>>386786842
Can you not kill the WAU?
>>
>>386782981

Not one person mentioned System Shock?

Well, play that.

If it's too dated, play Bioshock instead it's literally a dumbed down remake.
>>
>>386787394
Yeah,

You just walk away instead of shoving your arm into it.
>>
Deus Ex is the only sci-fi game that makes you think, Human Revolution too to some degree but it's not as expansive
>>
>>386784310
I dunno about this one
>>386784979
played them both several times, love them
>>386785190
Interesting, I am getting Dex. Do not know when I will play it though.
>>386785812
Tacoma and Headlancer seem interesting. Thanks for the list anon.
>>386785863
It certainty was.
>>386786463
Added to wishlist!
>>386786842
SOMA was real nice, I just wish the main protagonist was a silent one.
I killed him, he does not understand what being human means, people where suffering for no real good reason. IMO.

Thanks for the suggestions anons.

>>386788197
>Deus Ex is the only sci-fi game that makes you think,

Really makes you think...
>>
>>386787572
It's not too old, this sounds very much like what I was looking for. Do you think the "remake" will be any good? It is the same people that remade Turok 1 and 2. They did a good job with those two...
>>
>>386787572
System Shock 1 and 2 aged like milky, don't listen to this guy.
>>
>>386788231
>people where suffering for no real good reason. IMO.

Nobody was suffering beyond the mockingbirds. If the mockingbirds WERE suffering. Here's a youtube video of what the people in the basement of Theta were saying if you got close to them:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSIVpDdYDvs

The WAU stuck them in a fully realized version of the vivarium that he gave to Catherine for her pet project.

Hell, even Simon gets to enjoy a brief segment of paradise where he reconnects with his girlfriend until he wakes up again.

It was just trying to keep people from indiscriminately killing themselves while it was still tackling the problem of a barren planet.
>>
>>386788197
human revolution was fun, but it did not make me think at all. Story was a bit lackning. I never felt like that
explained why augs where a thing. They always used sweeping generalizations and "slogans" to explain why it
was something people would want. "next step in evolution" and such.

How is getting advanced prosthetic such an important issue that people literally riot over it and cant stop talking
about it. I could understand if it was something like enhancing mental abilities beyond human comprehension or
merging into a massive collective.
>>
>>386788730
>How is getting advanced prosthetic such an important issue that people literally riot over it and cant stop talking

it's pretty fucking huge, it's the first step in transhumanism. It was literally making people redundant
>>
>>386788451
>videogames age badly
>you not being a meme

I will try them out.
>>386788579
I dunno man, that dosen't seem like humanity to me. Seems like an AI with a limited goal in mind. We went extinct, it was
going to happen sooner or later. There is no intrinsic value to humanity. What is the point in letting the WAU do it's thing?
>>
>>386788730
>How is getting advanced prosthetic such an important issue that people literally riot over it and cant stop talking about it
In the long run it was making people have to pay a fortune for rejection drugs. They were several issues involved with prosthetic.
>>
>>386788886
another generalization in my opinion. For example the amount of jobs threatened by HR augmentations is very small. Regular robotics, bio
engineering, nanotechnology, resource scarcity and such seem far more important discussions than prosthetics most people would have to
reason to get in the first place. Besides soldiers, what good would HR augmentations do to the common man?
>>
>>386789253
Another good point about why HR augs would not take off, cost/benefit of them is ridiculous for normal people. Whats the
point in getting robotic legs that can sprint faster than any biological human, when I'm not an Olympic athlete?

What do I stand to gain by paying for the surgery, paying for anti rejection medicine for the rest of my life, paying for the augs
themselves. Seems like very few people would want to get those augs. Amputees, soldiers and dock workers, and the latter
can two can be replaced by remote ar autonomous controlled drones.
>>
>>386789565
>Besides soldiers, what good would HR augmentations do to the common man?
It's more important for laborers though, and it's obvious in HR that automation hasn't really affected a lot of jobs in that regard, and as i said it's the first step to the creation of a new type of human which makes it much more of a hot topic than what you listed.
>>
>>386789907
>What do I stand to gain by paying for the surgery, paying for anti rejection medicine for the rest of my life, paying for the augs themselves
Young dumb people don't think before fucking up their bodies, they thought it was cool at the time. It's the same as using drugs, they only regret it later.
>>
>>386784310
Joke would have worked better if heavy rain was a sci-fi game

I do not know, I never felt like the npc reactions where very credible in HR. MD was better in
this aspect imo. Npc's in MD acted more like normal people, rather than people in a play.
