Not him but to be fair some people have to travel for work or shit like that and a "gaming" laptop is probably the easiest if over-priced benefit you can find for easy PC gaming. I'm thinking of spending 2 grand on one myself because I'll be overseas for the next year starting in two months.

Because the lowest common denominator thinks that flashing lights and colors mean that it's more advanced and powerful, so they pay a premium for mediocre hardware. If something is listed as "GAMING", you might want to look elsewhere unless you like getting ripped off.

I bought an ASUS K501 in February because I wanted a decent all-around laptop. Only play PC exclusive games and cheap sale games on it (Civ, Paradox, DOI, Fallout NV). For multiplats I have an XBONE so I can play online with my normie friends. New Vegas with graphics mods at max settings runs at smooth 60FPS 1080p.

Best part is my computer doesn't have the autistic GAYMER aesthetics.
