Whichever Dev designed these maps needs to be kicked in the balls!
People wouldn't be complaining half as much about the tri slosher if these stages weren't literally made for the thing to fuck you up!
Every time i try to escape or run i have to either climb up something or swim around something which results in you getting kill half the fucking time.

Often times, the losing team on Musselforge will start staging a comeback and fail after the initial push. It's a literal uphill battle from four of those flanking routes, and a good team can shut out any push from them.

I've seen this both from my teams and enemy teams. It's consistent.

Muscleforge fitness also has the same problem as humpback pump track

Art academy is okay,but they clutter it up with so much shit in ranked modes when theres already lots of objects to hide and use for cover in the stage normally

Moray towers was made better

Port mackerel is still more or less the same even in its ranked mode versions.
My favorite stage of the old ones was port mack and it was always a perfect map, so they were at least smart enough not to touch it.

They do need to get rid of the sponges in the midle and leave the ones in the back corner or vice versa.

I was on Team Mayo and I can confirm you're wrong. I got into Mayo v Mayo matches and with a 27-73 split, I highly doubt it was because there were no Ketchup players at the time and I was playing during off hours.

It's more likely that we just couldn't find a good match. Your power level determines who you get paired up with, but it also determines who you're up against. As a result, there were times when my Mayo Team had a power level much higher or lower than any Ketchup Team looking for a match, so I got a mirror.

In other words, this lack of balance doesn't exist. You're not gonna have the best Ketchup players exclusively fighting each other while the weak ones are the ones representing. Teams of similar skill levels will be pinned against each other no matter what, making it as fair as can possibly be.

Also, the best Ketchup players make more mistakes than the worst Mayo players. That's a fact. Yeah, look it up.

Of course you liked it before when it was all about shooting down hallways without any semblance of movement or awareness. Now they've actually given short range weapons a chance on it and made you have to be more aware and proactive than simply spraying ink down a corridor

My main issue was that it was instant invincibility from squid form. So you could be hiding in a puddle of ink and immediately have the upper hand. Also some weapons sucked at pushing the Kraken back, so you couldn't do a whole lot to counter them.

Splatoon 2's maps are much stronger and the weakest ones are the ones they brought back. Splatoon 1's opening maps were all three lane shit with easy chokepoints. And yet it's harder to circle someone in this game due to the map design unless you're a retard and not paying attention. If you're getting ambushed you're not being aware enough. It's hard to get behind someone without barreling through an area the other team should control, which is better design. There's much more viability in where to go and what choices to make, and all weapons are viable, even the short ones.

If you think that's bad, you should try out Octobrush. I was sick of being stuck in the same rank so I started using it and basically won nearly all my later matches. Especially on Tower Control, all you need to do is mash the trigger and occasionally get behind people.

I actually do have to admit, although kills with it feel undeserved it's kinda fun to use.

I do use Octobrush. I have more luck with it in tower control because it's easy to hit everything on the tower with its spread, but I've found it doesn't carry me nearly as much now in higher ranks, most people are good enough to stay out of range, and a lot of the time the best I can manage is a trade, so I've started switching to longer range weapons.

You don't have to aim when you are attacking, so it is fairly braindead, I've gotten some mean, undeserved kills with it, but I think Trislosher is worse.

Like what, you're going to RUN away through enemy ink from an enemy that can freely swim? That's not fast enough to do jack shit. Run toward an enemy through their ink? If you're trying to get toward an enemy, what's the point of not just jumping forward and firing, which'll ink the ground regardless?

The superior choice for running away or going through enemy territory will always be spray in front and swim through. You're never going to get faster by running with ink resistance, and you're wasting ability slots that can actually be useful.

The thing about the Splatoon 2 specials is that they all require a degree of timing to be effective, if you use Ink Armor and 2 of your teammates are still respawning, it's no good. Sting Ray is the most situational but when used on the Tower or keeping the enemy team from picking up the Rainmaker, it's really good. Splatoon 2's specials aren't win buttons or get out of jail free cards, making them much more balanced than Splatoon 1's. Echolocator and Inkzooka were always good, all the time. Killer Wail denied a massive area to the enemy team, Bubbler and Kraken dominated 1v1s, ect.
Ink Storm is crucial during a push and can finish off enemies that would otherwise escape, but can still be walked around if it was thrown in a bad area. Splashdown is a death sentence for someone backed into a corner, but if someone tries to use it as a panic button they're probably gonna die. Baller is good for clearing out an area, but if someone tries to rush in with it like it's the Kraken it'll pop on them. They all have strengths and weaknesses and require skill and timing to use. People who say the Splatoon 2 specials are weak are just idiots who would mash their special button the instant their meter was charged and get rewarded for it.

You shouldn't separate the specials on who they are used(splashdown on jump vs otherwise), since that is part of the execution. Separation per mode/map is a different story, but is too fine grain to get into at first blush on a list. I think you are vastly undervaluing the amount of pressure that a bombrush exerts, no matter what the mode is. It can single handedly stop a push when well used. I think that Inkstorm's passive area control and damage over time is really useful. It may be more map/team dependent than others, but it has really low commitment and can facilitate some great pushes. I'd put it over Inkjet slightly, because of how low risk there is. Splashdown raw isn't amazing, and coordinatin a superjump for it can be difficult and time consuming, plus the inherent risk of jumping into enemy infested territory. Other than that, I think you've got a sound list

Which would you buff/nerf and how? I think the balance is pretty good right now, and the tiers are open to interpretation, so you don't need to do too much, but I'm curious about what you think

That's just not true. Kraken and Bubbler were panic buttons that worked incredibly well and pretty much killed the viability of close range weapons. Kraken was also an instant win button in overtime for RM or TC, as it killed the opponent's push. The problem with things like kraken, bubbler, and somehwat inkzooka and echolocator was that they were so powerful they couldn't be countered by skillful normal play. They were typically a free push or a free end to a push unless the map prevented their utility or the other team could respond with a special of their own. That's shitty design and leads to shit like Overwatch where the entire match revolves around who can use their Ults better. Specials shouldn't completely negate the value of normal gameplay from the opposing team. They should help increase the value of your teams. A kraken running right onto a tower or preventing death from and killing a close range weapon was too much

What do you mean? The Ds & custom with beakons got me to S+ 99. The custom especially made me the man I am today anon.

Not to mention what the fuck is going on with beakons. They're on all the weapon types I don't use. Beakons on the Dual Squelcher was perfect for my playstyle.

You underestimate nintendo and their willingness to impress.

They know splatoon 2 is literally a switch version of splatoon, just treating it as shooter no.2.

They know we love it and were not asking for much now, but this is an important franchise to them.
I guarantee you Splatoon 3 will have new shit to boot, nintendo wants to blow you away and keep this franchise alive and supporting.

Then player 2 looks around and is given 2 minutes to find him and shoot him. If he cant shoot ONCE or player 1 hides around and/or shoots him over, then they win.

Big changes for them will be things like water guns that remove ink or setting it in a more strickly sci-fi and futuristic type situation. Maybe at most we could see them add larger maps and 6v6 content.

But it won't be dynamic like Kirby or Mario. It's gonna be the same thing most times.

Remind me again why you guys eat this port up? Maybe by the time Splat 3 comes out there will be enough new content to constitute a new game, as it stands everything in this could have been added through an update to Splatoon 1, rather than a bad $460 dollar game.
