I was thinking of getting a 3DS but I read somewhere that 3DS

Development of games is likely slowing down in the coming years, but the library is so huge. Also backwards compabitlity with DS. I really like Hyrule Warriors, Animal Crossing, and Ace Combat right now. But there's such a wide variety that you're bound to find something you like

I think Switch Pokemon will probably signify the end of the 3DS line. If that game can sell very well on the Switch, then I doubt they'll keep two Handhelds going at the same time.

Sure, you can expect Nintendo to shift support from it to Switch at some point in the future. But right now it's still going strong.

Right now would probably be A Link Between Worlds. I'm currently trying to play Bravely Default and Ever Oasis. Tried playing Xenoblade but got rather bord of it sadly, and Binding of Isaac kinda runs like shit at a lot of point, but still one of my favorite time killers as well as castlevania 4

You realize, right at a console's dying moments is the BEST time to buy one, right? Or at least the best time to consider buying one.
The library's all out, if there are hacks, they'll have been done by now (And in the case of the 3DS, boy howdy this shit is WIDE OPEN), and there'll be no surprises as far as hardware issues goes. You as a consumer get the best of literally every single possible outcome.

I'd have to say the old bastard is on it's last legs but like what others are saying, there are a lot of fun games for it and it's worth getting one, imo.
I've been playing MHGen on mine lately and it stays very enjoyable. It's weird tho. I will put the thing off to the side for weeks upon weeks, not caring if it gets dirty or even if I lose it but when I actually start playing it for more than 5 minutes I get addicted again and treat it like gold.

I recently bought all of the VC Zelda games and Kirby triple deluxe since it was on sale for $15. Been playing the latter, and it's super fun, real relaxing to play but a difficult bit here and there if you're trying to 100% it. Thinking about getting the robot Kirby game that came out last year if it's similar to this one, and Xenoblade and link between worlds are on my wishlist.
