Best controller ever or worst idea brought to kickstarter?
Works with:
PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, Wii, Wii U, and Switch
Does not work with:
NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1, PS2, Xbox (original), Gamecube, N64.
It's all gonna come down to the quality of those little knobs and buttons and joysticks. Sure you can use it with everything, but is that experience gonna be enjoyable?
Also, how much $$$ are we talking here?
i have an all controller. actually two of them.
Too late, I already have one for Windows (Wired 360), PS4 and iOS.
is this the kickstarter controller thread?
>>386712517
The prices are all in Canadian here according to:
But in real money that would be...
Wired: $43 US dollars.
Wireless: $62 US dollars.
Wireless + Dongle: $78 US dollars.
(Dongle is needed to play most consoles from what I understand)
Kinda looks like garbage desu.
>>386712879
I saw that. Can it work on anything else or is it only N64?
>>386712363
Joysticks are in the wrong position tho
>>386712363
I'd use the screen for Dreamcast emulation to get the VMU to run on it.
>>386713016
They've got two versions you can pick from. Playstation style or Xbox style. Xbox layout is better looking in my opinion though.
>>386712885
Hold up, your OP pic had the asymmetrical joystick thing going on but this one has it playstation style. What gives?
>>386713165
>No WiiU style where the dpad and buttons are laid out like a SNES controller
Shit tastes desu
>>386712517
They've got people who said they've played it. Posted quotes here. I can't find any links to the articles though. Are they even real?
>>386713169
It's in the update section of the Kickstarter page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1811189679/all-controller-universal-and-fully-customizable/posts/1953917

the kickstarter mentions that you can just buy an adapter
but they also said if it does well enough they will put out a USB version
>>386713908
Would it work with modern games though? Looks like it's missing a lot of buttons and features. Wouldn't a USB N64 controller or Xbox 360 PC controller work just as well if not better? Also, does it support memory cards or rumble pack?
>>386712363
This pos is gonna end up feeling like the Ouya controller.
>>386714970
I don't think so. Ouya built a controller and video game console for the same price as one of these controllers. These guys are JUST making a controller. They've already sent out working models and judging from this:
>>386713669
People seem to like them.
>>386712879
I'd totally get this if it's actually comfortable.
>>386713345
wew those quote cuts are b-movie tier.
>>386712530
Do what this guy did and you will be happy. Just buy your preferred switch controller
>>386712879
>>386715224
I think the B and A might be way to low to get a good grip on it. Should have been B and A at the top and the C buttons bellow.
>>386715446
This all controller costs half as much as a Switch Pro controller and works on everything else at the same time. This is why I'm interested in it.
>>386712363
>press [black button] to Jason
>>386712363
remember me
>>386712879
>>386712363
mite b cool
Looks ugly as fuck. Maybe when they learn how to make a visually pleasing controller on top of it having the ALL features I'll get one.
>>386712879
wow anon, now we are talking.
>>386715575
They only spent a tiny fraction of money on R&D compared to Nintendo, though
>>386712879
hows the D-pad?
Can't wait for a Genesis/Saturn/Master System/Dreamcast version of it.
Looks great.
>>386715575
>no gyro
>>386716512
I did a bit of research and people say the NES one is actually pretty good, so I assume the d-pad on this one is as good. It's 20 bucks if you get it now, I'm really tempted to get one. Thanks to whoever posted it.
>>386716842
That's the next stretch goal that they are pretty close to hitting.
>>386716875
OnLive died too soon.
>>386715758
That one is absolute garbage, which sucks because it looks kinda cute.
It would be good if it had displays under buttons that change depending on layout like Optimus Maximus keyboard does.
>>386716923
What about Rumble paK/Memory Pak/controller plugin?
>one controller
>not enjoying the benefits of a multitude of controllers depending on what you're playing
>>386712363
This is obvious shilling. You poat this shit everyday. Fuck off.
>>386717198
>>386716923
OMG, just checked it, it has the plug...
Holy shit, I'm hyped for this shit. lol
I'm hoping they release one version for each Retro Console, I can't deal with adapters anymore.
>>386717198
It does support all accessories.
>>386717130
That's pretty neat. I assume the keys are customizable right?
>>386712363
Seems like it's going to be for a very small portion of the gaming population, as I could get a dongle to allow any controller to work with any modern system for like 40-50 bucks new, and I can't help but think that there are better controllers out there that would be much better to use universally, like the Xbone Elite Controller or something.
>>386712879
We have a workable prototype... Doesn't show prototype. Also, the weakest point of all 3rd party n64 controllers is the stick. I feel like this is going to be some crappy Chinese feeling knockoff controller if they are selling it for 20 bucks. The deadzone is probably ass too. They showed basically no technical features pertaining to the product, and just showed "hey, we ripped apart a PS3 controller and put it in a new shell with n64 buttons.
>>386717527
Yes, each key can be assigned to anything with any picture on the key.
>>386717130
You should send the guys making the Kickstarter a message about that. They seem pretty open to ideas.
>>386715758
The only good thing about the Wii U Pro Controller is the battery life. Everything else about it sucks dick. I can't imagine the classic version is any better.
>>386712363
I almost backed it but decided against. It just looks kind of cheaply made, gives me Ouya controller flashbacks. The Dpad looks like it will be bad, clicky and made from hard plastic, the worst kind. I may buy it when it comes out if I'm wrong but I've got one of just about every controller, not really in need of a new one.
>>386717425
Best controller incoming.
I waiting for the Steel Stick 64 final version to use with a Kitsch Bent's replacement gear... I'm saying good bye for the Steel Stick 64 stuff if this controller delivers a great analog.
That's all they need to put off to steal all the market.
+Great ergonomics
+Great d-pad
+Great Z-Triggers
?Analogue quality?
>>386717649
Yes they do, you have to check the gallery. And again, people said the sticks on the nes one are pretty good.
Speaking of controllers, have anyone used this one? I know Hori does some good stuff (for the most part) but I was thinking about picking it up.
>>386712363
How about a version with six face buttons on the right?
>>386718000
That looks awful.
this little fucker works universally as well after a firmware update. REALLY small and the shoulder buttons take some getting used to, but I love it
>>386718573
Horrible d-pad and a lot of sync issues. And they are too fragile.
>>386718573
I'm of the opinion that all the console makers fleshed out their controllers for a reason - because they feel better in the hands.
>>386718032
You should send in a message asking them to add buttons. People requested features and they listened. As long as they have a kickstarter going they can pretty much do anything.
anyone tried this before?
>>386712363
It looks like they made a lot of these controllers before getting to the one you see on the page. How much do you think that cost them?
>>386713669
What I like about this is that they built something first. This wasn't just a random 3D model rendered and shown off. This is a real already existing device that they want to make with the help of kickstarter. This is a big plus for me, because every time I see a kickstarter page it's filled with people NOT doing this.
>>386718817
fair enough, but I don't mind holding a simple shape for a controller. hell, I'm one of the madmen who thinks the 3DS is a great controller so take it with a grain of salt
>>386718975
Direct comparison with Ouya. They did 2 models and went straight to manufacturing it. That's bullshit and WHY they made such a bad controller. Removable batteries and face plates are dumb. This is one advantage the all controller and that retro fighter controller have.
>>386715830
I tried that. Friend bought it and played Halo with it. One thing I remember about it were the triggers feeling good. I used it in Rainbow Six 3, and the triggers made semi auto really efficient.
