MMOs have their own board, arcade games got their own board, VNs/Eroge got their own board, console games got their own board, mobile got their own board.

Lot of nips are on Steam now, so if anything is in there, they know about it, plain and simple. In this day and age nothing is obscure anymore, especially if something is available in English.

While their English suck it's probably what's most accessible to them if it's not in Japanese. (Unlike the billions Chinese games no one ever heard about and which never leave China.)

There's nip culture threads, sure, but /v/, /tv/, /pol/, /mlp/, /int/, /fit/, /co/, etc. are for general discussion about those specific hobbies, therefor the argument that weebs belong here and western games arent is invalidated

Because the way 2ch has been working for decade is closer to how /vg/ operates. Threads are semi-perpetual. The moment they reach bump limit, they are made again.

They just have extremely granular sub-categories, way more than 4chan does (and desu nowadays 4chan volume is most likely way higher than what 2ch generates considering how mainstream this place is and how it is used by pretty much the entire world.)

You still have boards where threads don't persist, but it's really the main ones (like /v/).

That's why Japan was using contactless and electronic payments a decade before the world did.

What delayed Japan is that they had pretty much their very own Japanese technology for everything way before we did, before globalization was as crazy as it is today. And when companies like Apple, Microsoft or Google started to literally shape today's world, it took Japan longer to convert.

It's harder to convert something existing for something new than just build it from scratch. Look at South East Asia. They had literally no tech couple decades ago. When smartphone appeared, it was straight with iOS/Android, there was nothing to change, it all started with that tech.

Meanwhile Japan had a bunch of legacy technology still there, took them a while to switch to smartphones.

And it's the same with contactless, Japan are so fucking late because they still use their own Japanese shit like Osaifu-Keitai (Felica). Now the world is using Android Pay / Apple Pay with NFC. Japan has yet to convert everything again.

People don't really that's bullshit, even most Eroge aren't even listing Windows XP on their specs. Microsoft heavily pushed Windows 7 and 10 in Japan. Surface is popular their too.

Maybe old fashioned corporation or some public offices in the countryside, but hey that's the same pretty much everywhere. Also in factories where all machinery software was made during WinXP era and upgrading everything to 7/10 would be pointless and too expensive.
